2, 3, 11 and 15 caught my interest.
#2 was the choice for me.

Manual mode would work, but it would be convenient to have the camera automatically set the shutter/aperture (whichever was not set) to the meter, and allow me to manually override .
The green button does not allow me to set either value automatically. I take what it gives me and I may have to adjust both values. I would prefer using straight manual.
Using Av or Tv modes makes me have to hit other buttons to compensate.
If Av and Tv modes did not disable the aperture and shutter dials, compensation could easily be done through the exposure meter and dials.

I wish thete was a mode that would allow me to set the aperture or shutter speed and then meter to set exposure, but then override the setting to manually set exposure compensation without additional menus. I would even give up the current aperture and shutter prioity modes to get this.

That sounds like it could be the issue. I never really messed with the timer delay. I didn't realize it disabled SR. The shutter never fired, but i tended to turn off the camera to reset it.

A few days ago, i was shooting my K-1 in a very high humidity environment. I had been shooting for several hours and everything seemed fine until suddenly when I hit the shutter button, and it just beeped at me. I noticed the shake reduction was off, but I couldn't access the part of the menu to turn it on. I messed with it a little, and finally did a reset on the camera. After the reset, everything is now working normally (after redoimg my customizations).
My question is, should I send the camera in to Pentax to have it checked, or wait to see if it starts having issues again?

I just upgraded to the K3 a few months ago. Sure, I would have loved to have got the K1, but the price difference was a deal breaker. Especially with the bargain prices on the K3 right now. The K1 is a great camera, but the cost/benefit just didn't work out for me. If I could comfortably afford the $2,500 - $3,000 it would take to get the new camera and lenses it would have been a no brainer.

The K-1 would be a great camera, but the thought of replacing all the APS-C lenses put me off. And there are such great prices on the K-3 right now, I ended up with one.

Pop up flashes are like the temporary spare tire in your car. You try not to use it, and if you need it, it may be flat or blow out, but in a pinch at least it is something.

I happily upgraded to my K-3 from a K-10D a little over a month ago. I just couldn't resist the price drop, and probably would not have sprung for the $1,700 (plus new lenses) for the K-1 anyway. Nice camera, but out of my price range.

If you have the cash, I would go for the K-1 and replacing the APS-C lenses. It would probably be a great setup. But if you don't want to spend the cash on new lenses, you may be as well off going to the K-3 or K-3 II.
