Thank you all so very much. Just from listening to people with knowledge and experience, I feel like I am learning a lot. One thing I want to clarify is how to do pre-focus mode + fine AF. Next time I go to a sports event...will definitely share some good pictures ;)

Hello my fellow Pentaxians
I took my K-3 ii coupled with DA* 60-250 for the first time to a soccer match with great expectations very excited. But, unfortunately I wasn't calm and experienced enough to recognize that I should have adjusted settings of the camera to take action shots. In consequences, 99% of some 500 pictures I took from the match were poorly taken. I believe the fact that this soccer match has gone through at night time made the shots more blurry along with my already long time value and narrow aperture. But, if you were in this situation, how would you have set the settings? my seat had a table right in front so I could use that as my support, but now I think a monopod or mini tripod could help significantly as well. If I could get any advise, I'd be thankful. :)
Just for curious soccer fans, this match was AFC Champions league semi final - east asia division Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors vs Shanghai SIPG and the dude taking the freekick is Hulk transferred to from Zenit to Shanghai for ~$60 million fee. On the bright side, my team Jeonbuk won the match big time 5-0.

Thanks for checking me back on this thread. I love the lens. It is very very sharp and even has some nice bokeh that I didn't even expect. However, I learned that the lens just cannot go 250mm range (or it just don't extend from 200mm). Just never happened with my setups no matter how far I shoot. Some people from other sources say that the focus breathing needs to be warned on the description and I agree on that note, even though the lens itself is great.

I just tested the 60-250 yesterday at a lake area and it didn't stretch far enough even when I was shooting an object very far away from me. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong, but does the focus breathing happen to far objects as well?

Wow. Before starting this thread, I was in contact with Sigma for return process, but I might want to take a hold on that thought. Thanks for taking time to do this. Will definitely learn some editing software sooner or later! ---------- Post added 08-12-16 at 08:14 PM ----------
Thanks again for additional inspirations and the learning tips. Much appreciated!

I'm a bit confused. Could you tell me more about the things you would have done with the 2nd picture shadows?

Thanks all for the tips! So...when setting the exposure compensation to +1, we use the +/- button right above the top LCD? and VoiceofReason do you mean tweaking metering modes?

Thank you Adam. As you can see from pictures below vignetting is definitely a huge part of the dark outcomes. These pictures from sigma 8-16 are taken at Buford Dam GA today on a very sunny day right after a little bit of raining. I had all my arms burn but the picture don't look as bright as it was out there.

Hello. I recently purchased a Sigma 8-16 from their official site soon after I purchased my first Pentax camera. I like the unique distortion and focal length, but it seems to me that the brightness is sort of an issue. Other than changing the aperture, is there a way to get brighter and contrasty result for both day and night?

Thank you. So, this happens only to close range shots?

Hi. I just recently purchased a used 60-250 and have a question to ask about it. When I turn the zoom ring on the lens from 60 to 250, the zoom range changes smoothly and proportionally until about 200mm but from 200mm to 250mm nothing much zoom in at all. Is this normal? Or do I have a bad copy? It was a near new condition from Adorama.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I already bought more lenses than I should have along with my first camera, so there are limits to my spendings. Do you think getting the Mets 26 first would do some help?

All in all, AF360FGZ II looks like it gets the job done for the most part of the capabilities demanded by advises above. But, comes in much higher price than I initially anticipated. :(

Thanks all. Its great to ask forums and learn about simple basics. Otherwise I'd still be lost. Will look more into the HSS flash.

Thank you for the link and the flash. I just learned that the flash you recommended is the cheapest one that comes with IR focus. The one I had in mind didn't have it. Before I get more mixed up though, I would like to ask...do every photographer needs a flash? I plan to take most photos in very bright day light conditions to good light indoor situations. The motivation to buy a flash only started to roll because I am going on a trip at the end of this month.

I do not have any experience with flash on DSLRs or any advanced photography. In fact, my main goal of having a flash would be learning how and when to use flash.
