I'm expecting this lens + the K3iii to blow everyone's doors in with its performance. Pentax's PLMs are in a category all their own and that we're getting one with * glass has my expectations pretty high.

That was disappointing. He basically just sat in his hotel room fiddling with camera and reading off specs while cracking jokes. This dude usually gets out to shoot and get a feel for a camera. Maybe more videos in the future?

It's ok to want better. If no one ever said anything, then no one making products for us would ever know.

If you don't have time to do it right, when do you have time to do it over?

No mention of the bit or subsampling rate of the video recording. These things are important if you're including video at all and without them it's probably unusable junk.

Also notable: 1st slot is UHS-II but not 2nd slot.
RAW buffer size is 32 frames (on high, but RAW doesn't have a quality setting?) So that's a little less than 3 seconds. I feel like with how fast and cheap memory has gotten, we could do 5 to 6 seconds worth of buffer in 2020.
Also, 101 phase detect points and 25 cross type is also a little off where we could be. It's not a does-all-things the best kind of camera, but what it does it should do really well.

All the geriatrics here were screaming about how it's not a problem that we're moving to niche. Well, get ready to pay niche prices [emoji41].

I just don't understand the worth of paying a monthly or yearly fee to this site. It's a bit of a dinosaur was probably built with a template way-back-when and that lacks what a lot of other features of modern forums.

I love what this guy is able to do just in camera. Great eye too. Making me rethink my workflow.

I did catch that. By what measure is not immediately clear. If by pure image quality, they're arguably in their own class already. Autofocus, FPS, and buffer size would probably be targeting the Nikon D500's specs, which I doubt.

Reddit.com, the 19th most visited website in the world (7th US) would beg to differ. Their entire website is based around content first being self-moderated by their users via the upvote AND downvote buttons. Moderators step in when someone breaks website or subreddit rules. It works.

If we can't voice our concerns with the brand here, on the brand's forums, them where is that discourse allowed to take place?

Also, I'm sure any manufacture that wants to make a Metabones or Fotodiox-like adapter can do so much easier with a KAF4 mount now. It was developed to modernize us, when all other camera manufacturers had moved on long ago. The EF mount goes back to the early 90s.

I'm still only seeing a slight hint of it. Easily correctable if you need to for a client, but I doubt most would notice. They did a really good job with this lens. Even the Otus has a tiny bit of it wide-open. I can't think of any lenses that don't.

It's tough when you don't have the reputation for the higher end stuff, or people forget you're still even making lenses. I'm not sure what Sigma's marketing approach was when they started the Art series but it worked out. I didn't mind seeing them as our Canon/Nikon branch and that allowing us to continue to make top end optics.
