I used this device (once) with a Pentax K-1 and Sigma 70mm macro lens. Worked just fine. Have no further need of it. Listed price $139 retail when new.

The ES-2 is a Film Digitizing Adapter that lets you easily convert your film images to digital. Taking advantage of the high-pixel count of the D850's 45.7 MP, the Film Digitizing Adapter lets you convert both 35mm slides and negatives to digital files. Using a lens such as the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED attached to the D850, the camera's digitizing function automatically reverses the colors and stores them as JPEG images. This once time-consuming process involving a film scanner can be done much more quickly. For negative strips, use the FH-4 Strip Film Holder with the ES-2 and for slides, use the FH-5 Slide Mount Holder with the ES-2.
The set includes: ES-2 Negative Digitizer, FH-4 Strip Film Holder, FH-5 Slide Mount Holder, and 2 different 62mm adapter rings (62mm adapter ring A and 62mm adapter ring B).

I have a very nice copy of this lens, but the aperture ring is quite stiff and very hard to adjust.
So, I took off the back mounting plate, and, SHAZAMM ! the aperature ring is OK.
Then, I place the mounting ring back on, and it is too tight again.
Once I got the mounting plate, and little shim off, there is no obvious way to adjust or dissasemble from there.
Any guidance, appreciated.

A very nice lens - small and light. I bought for night landscapes, and it is just a tad too slow at f/3.5 - but should be great for you.
Glass is excellent - no defects that I can see in natural light.
Lens is fully functional on a K-1. I used it manual focus and operation only.
Body is fair, shows signs of wear on the paint on the very front or knurled rings. A small ding on the front filter rings, but it still threads a filter ok.

wrote the original piece as a description of my personal experiences and opinions.
I have no position, no axe to grind, nothing to gain or lose. In fact, I personally lost
about $500 switching back to the Mark 1.
At best, I was looking for a reasoned rebuttal of facts and data, something overlooked, something mistaken, etc.
I got darned few of those, but did get a number of FANBOY responses like:
"Do you own this camera, or are you just doing the parrot thing and repeating what a guy who is generally perceived to be an anti-Pentax moron over at DPR says."
"Is this like a robot troll bait post by DPR staff."
"He didn't even give us a shot at it. He just came and pontificated."
"The post is still a rambling bit of incoherence."
Calls for evidence to support some of my opinions will go unanswered.
Why would I want to subject myself to further abuse?

What is wrong with you guys?
I tried very hard to come up with a reasoned and logical assessment of what I have personally seen and done, based upon my needs as a photographer. I OWN/OWNED BOTH CAMERAS, and have many sample images.
So, what is the majority response?
I am a troll, an agent of DPR, don't know what I am doing after 40 years in photography and 20 years doing astrophotography. I currently own an extensive line of Sony and now Pentax cameras and lenses. I have owned and used, and am quite familiar with Olympus, Canon platforms. I write software, some of it for imaging.
I expected better, but, it seems like the fanboys have nothing better to do.
