Thanks to this thread I went on the hunt and have gotten a copy of this c mount lens for myself now. Agreed, this is sharp even wide open and the bokeh is well rounded but becomes oddly shaped (not round) when stopped down.
The Q looks funny with such a long thin lens attached but not the end of the world.

This lens is small, so great for snaps during family outings.

I hope it is OK to post own images here as I finally got a chance to use mine on the genuine Q. This lens is super - thank you for showing it is worth to purchase!
It seems to be perfectly usable wide open (all images above at f 3.9, whole frames from RAW).

Yes, there are some nice c-mount lenses around. Those are impressive shots.

This image was taken at a small town fireworks display just outside of Kansas City, MO. It was one of many long exposures I took that evening but only this one turned out with red skies.

Thanks for posting some pics taken with the modded lens. I am also interested in performing this mod for use on my K-1 and so far there aren't too many real examples yet of the results. The results you posted look great and several of your pics were taken at 250mm too so it seems like a great mod. I plan on just removing the baffle ring from the tube so that the tube can remain in the lens. Is this what you did as well?
