Hi Aguspram,
I haven't used this particular combination, but I use my Pentax M and A lens on the LUMIX gx8 with adapter. The image quality is good.

I have the Zeiss 85, and if you are saying it does fit your budget, I recommend it. It's is awesome quality construction, beautiful color rendition on skin tones, nice contrast, sharp.

The Voigtlander 90 apo lanther rocks as well.

Is some samy yang lens going to hold it's value? The Zeiss will.

Hi guys,

I joined the club my LBA lead me to the Helios and Tair 20 blades 135mm.

One questions for you all. Is their a super high quality adapter that you don't have to operate on to get off? Talk about holy nightmares, I accidentally slipped and touched the mirror with the key.

Preventing dark prints?

I am with Jones on that.... Printed images always come out darker than a back light monitor. If the color is accurate, I would take the print and compare it to your monitor and then bring down the brightness until it is similar.... write down the setting. That way when you want to process an image to print you can have an idea of what it will look like.

ICC printer profiles and soft proofing help.

Developing your images for print is an art all in itself.

Hi,
Welcome and congrads on your new camera! I have one and it took me a little bit to get used to it, and see how all the features work.

I would...
*Update the firmware, it's easy!
*Get fast sandisk cards extreme pro, they work good for me.
*Change the autofocus default setting to shutter priority. I would practice with the auto focus so you know what to expect, and how to take full advantage of the different settings, and the way they work. Lots of people use back button focus, it's handy!

Use it everyday to get used to it!

**** And the best of all be prepared for some fantastic pictures!!!!

The Voigtlander Lanther 180 came. This lens rocks!!! It is the smallest 180 I have ever seen! The Zeiss lens are bigger. It's slim like a Leica.
Here is a close focus pic. Shot on Tav, jpeg, straight out the trailer, no adjustments except resize in windows. I like the tonal quality, and smooth transitions of the whites. What do you think? Smooth right?

Hi everyone,

I would like to know,

How many people actually modify and glue on the black tube to the converter ring? Are there any converters at all that will allow you to screw it back on?
I really don't want to put anything with glue in, on, or around my camera.

If I shoot anything back lite, huge issues without the tube on the 135 Elmerit.

Awe sorry didn't mean to be crash. To much Thanksgiving beer LOL

Dude, I like your pictures... You will get the hang of your new camera.

The newest HD FA zooms are quick, fast, and sharp. I always thought fixed focal point made sharper images but, I have the 24-70. It works awesome, different improved internal focusing mechanisms that the older lenses. They were specifically designed for the K-1.

If you go to the gallery you can sort by camera and lens type and see all kinds of action images. Naturally, some are better than others. When I find ones I like I sometimes contact the photographer and ask questions. The people are very nice here, they will most likely than not tell you.

I learned to shut off the focus trigger on the shutter release and only use back button focus. I have good luck with spot, and one technique I use is to spot focus on exactly where I want the sharpest point, and then recompose and release the shutter.

Exactly, if I had a new lens on and knew how well it worked I wouldn't have an issue bursting. However, if I had an old lens on like the Fa77 limited with no one touch override. Sometimes, the older lenses can be dicey. Here's a scenario, what if you had it on Focus Priority, and you didn't pre focus the composition at all, and them Bam the lens hunt's and the shutter button is dead and you have missed the shot completely. You would be very disappointed and think it's the camera's fault.

Pentax has made a lot different settings and adjustments available to the auto focus, and I think it takes a little bit of mastery and practice with all the possible lens combinations.

For instance, would you have used focus tracking on the baby and would you have set the hold to low, med,or high? There is a lot to be considered in choosing your settings.

I kept my stereo, they don't make them like this anymore. You can't compare the dynamic analogue range of reel to reel.

so yeah, I think the post is funny. OMG I shot it with a phone, it didn't focus. Oh wait, could be camera movement LOL

Yeah I think it's comical. The whole discussion had got me thinking, how many frames per second was our auto winders? I use to shoot the auto winder and have to manually focus the camera at the same time. You learn to develop a rhythm, and anticipate your subject, and small burst or you would be out of film quick. Film, processing, and enlargements added up fast.

I looked it up 1.5 or 2 fps.

I think what is really interesting is if you go into the member galleries you can actually see the type of images people are getting. One man named Franc has some amazing shots of birds in flight with incredible, Incredible sharp detail that he shot with the 50-300 zoom!!!

In a way, the K1 is very complex with all it choices and settings. It takes practice shooting in different situations to see how to get the best from the camera. Even just knowing when to change selections from face detect, to spot, to sel. And if you're on continuous, whether to hold low, med, or high? People don't have any experience using the camera, and then they slam it out of ignorance.

When I learned 40 years ago, we didn't have any of this. The first thing I had to do when I got the camera was to learn how do I shut everything off. I can work a manual camera, and read a light meter. Then I learned the features on it. But my god, the people today want a high priced instamatic, with a beep that will tell them when the composition is balanced... If any of them had to pay for film and development and enlargements, they wouldn't be shooting so hap hazardly. I also had a speed winder, but you learned to do small bursts, when it was necessary or you would be out of film in no time. Oh yeah, and I had to focus the camera while I was using the auto winder at the same time, that would probably give them a nervous breakdown LOL.

I have always written two cards one raw, one jpg. On SanDisk 64 gig Extreme pro 280mb"s cards class II. After about ten frames it takes a breath to catch up. Very short pause.

One day I tried an off brand cheap card from the dollar store. $10. Who knows what write speed. It got clogged after four shots.

As the post states they are absolutely dependant on autofocus, and unable to manually focus a candid shot. Apparently, they just hold the button down until the buffer is full? I guess like those wildlife photographers who do the same thing, and then are disappointed that the animal didn't do anything special.

I would just get a video camera, and extract frames you think make a nice picture.
