Using a tripod with an exposure time of 30 seconds I was able to capture the moon rising over a fairly calm lake after sunset. There was enough light to see the fall colors.

Took this picture while on a dock next to the docked boat. As the sun was setting past the horizon I used a flash to enhance the boat as it was getting dark.

Caught a candid head shot of the cat when it entered the room from a dark area. Had the 35mm macro lens on the camera to allow for a close-up shot with a diffused flash.

Chipmunks are a common animal in the yard. As I was walking in the backyard with my camera along an area I set up for wildlife I saw this chipmunk "hiding" behind the rock. Although the chipmunk most likely saw me he did not run away until I was able to take one picture.

I have been a Pentax owner since 1978 as a photo enthusiast. However, when the early digital cameras came out I went to the point and shot cameras for a while until I decided to go with a DSLR. Since I had a number of K lenses I decided to stay with the Pentax. I purchased the K50 to get back into the SLR functionality until the K3-II came out. I now use both cameras but most often the K3-II.

Mid afternoon game with shadows of the players. Camera was set to rapid frame rate to capture the right moment during the swing at the pitch. The batter is my granddaughter.
