Just had a daft idea, if you had a mirrorless K mount camera (such as the K-01 for example) - is there enough space to design a tray to fit filters where the mirror isn't? This could be independent of the lens, unlike You Tube |

It is now listed as polished brass...well some of the description. I asked if there was a hallmark yesterday and now its says chrome polished off to show gold coloured brass ;-) strange things on ebay!

I have used these (different brand but same charger) and had no bother but the BG10 grip is a much better option.

Still looking for a Q-S1 to go with my Q7 What I would like, in addition to a Q specific macro lens would be a small light fast 45-135mm (or 50-150) - and a more sunlight friendly screen (or Lumix GX7 style viewfinder)
Love these little beauties

First digital camera was an Olympus Camedia C-1400L, expensive and it seemed so slow! Nice photos but finding a suitable memory card and reader was difficult back then. It was so good that I just used it for work and kept on using my Ricoh Mirai for everything else for a while.

I get the impression that some e-bay users don't understand the concept of "offers", they either don't make an offer or make a silly half price offer.

(Blasphemy mode) - Get a Fujifilm 3d Camera and go for a wander with that (/Blasphemy Mode)
Macro stuff - as BigMackCam suggests.
Get a Pentax Q7/Q-S1 and try that, get a wide angle zoom, get bored with that, then sell it to me for a discount price ;-)
Have fun!

Does she have a PC/Laptop to view the photos on? Does she have an ipad/Tablet? You have to think how she will view the shots and whether she will do anything with them. If she will simply view them on an ipad or tablet and perhaps e-mail to friends or post on facebook then a bridge camera with decent wifi and a suitable app on the tablet will do. There are a few KS2's with lenses on ebay for less than $500 (based on UK ebay/prices at least) so that might be the next level up if a bridge camera isn't enough and she fancies posting to Flickr or similar.

I haven't used my K-1 near enough to get a K-1II yet, but hopefully the K-3 III will also be announced.

As a recent convert to Pentax I can honestly say that I have been very impressed by the K3 and K3II. I have a Nikon D5500 which is a very good little camera which has the advantage of a touchscreen and wifi built in but which I find quite awkward to use when trying to learn new stuff although the auto settings are very easy to use. Meanwhile the menu and controls on the K3II are so easy to use and customise.
Lenses are my main issue with the Pentax, in that I can't get the 150-600mm Tamron or Sigma for Pentax so have to keep the Nikon for use with the big lens. However the number and quality of old manual lenses that are available for the Pentax is quite staggering, lovely 90mm and 135mm lenses including the Karl Zeiss Jena models. I've recently started collecting Tamron Adaptall-2 lenses with the CT-300 and CT-135 being my favourites so far and a 200mm coming soon, all very good and so far very cheap.
Welcome to the group.
