Great review, thanks!
But there's one mistake: The first DSLR's with IBIS where Minolta Maxxum 5D and 7D, followed by all Sony A-mount models since they bought the Minolta camera department in 2006.
And you should mention that Pentax cameras are the only ones that don't have a stabilized viewfinder. Canon and Nikon have it because of in-lens stabilization, Sony has it because of the electronic viewfinders. Big disadvantage for Pentx, esp. if you use long focal range in combination with manual focus.
And when did Canon make a new mount for their aps-c cameras? They introduced a new mount only for their mirrorless cameras, not for the DSLR's.

I had the K-70 in my hands in a shop yesterday, and I'm really impressed by the quality and all those features that the competitors don't have. I tested it with
18-135 kit lens and the HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm F4-5.6 DC WR RE.
The AF wasn't super-fast, but not worse than Nikon D-5500. Good enough for still photography, surely not the best for sports.
But I really think about selling my Sony NEX and changing to Pentax. Sony is way too expensive these days, and there aren't many third-party-lenses, at least no zooms with AF.
The K-70 with the new 55-300 and the Sigma 17-70 would be perfect for me, as an affordable starter set. But it concerns me, that many higher quality lenses aren't available. Sure, there is the Sigma 1.8/18-35 ART, but no 1.8/50-100...

I think, Sigma would be more important. The Pentax bodies all offer a lot bang for the buck, but most lenses don't. A K-1 with the Sigma 24-105/4 Art would be really great.
Or a K-70 (or K-3 III) with Sigma 50-100/1.8...

I think, they will make a K-Mount version if many people ask for it - and if many people buy cameras that support KAF4. Same with lenses like the Sigma 1.8/50-100...

The EVF has many more advantages: All informations in the viewfinder, magnification, focus peaking... Esp. for manuel focusing, there's nothing better. And if you use lenses, that are made fpr SLR's, your ystem won't be small anyway. Why should the EVF need extra processing power? Isn't it the same as for Live View?

OVF and EVF both have some advantages - and that won't change in the next couple of years. I wonder, why no manufacturer dares to make a camera with interchangable viewfinders anymore. It should be possible to have "best of both worlds" in one body...

Has anybody used the Sigma 17-70/2.8-4 macro with the K-70? How fast and acurate is the AF?
