I've been back and forth with this decision, but alas, I've finally made up my mind as my photography is going in a different direction and I no longer see a need for a full DSLR kit.

I received my lens last week and it suffers from SEVERE front focus. On my KS2, I’m already at the maximum micro adjustment for front focus (-10) and it still front focuses by a huge margin.
If I manually focus, it appears to focus properly, but I think AF is severely off.
I can either return for a full refund or I can send it off to Sigma for calibration - at my cost for shipping.
Sigma has contacted me and they are also recommending that I send my body as this will allow for best results.
Any advice guys?
***UPDATE***
I think I'll send it to Sigma for calibration with my KS2. It's a good lens and it's a focal length I really like, plus I got an awesome deal on the lens...

yep! I just withdrew my KS2 listing and picked one up. I had also been watching this lens, and maybe this will keep me in the Pentax camp for a little while longer.
Note that Adorama sells directly from their website for $169 with free 3-day expedited shipping.
If you buy from Adorama's ebay site, they charge $11 for shipping.
28 is actually my ideal focal length on APS-C as it's nicely inbetween 35mm and 50mm on equivalent FF focal length.

I'm a self-confessed bagoholic, so I have lots of bags...However, I find that in all my travels and outings, I realistically swap between two lenses at any given time: a normal zoom and a low-light macro. My current kit is a KS2 with the kit 18-50 (quite a nice lens, don't believe the negative press!) and a Sigma 50/2.8 macro lens. Additionally, I also keep a travel tripod (trek-tech t'pod), spare batteries, and an IR remote.
All of the above can fit in my Crumpler Three Million Dollar Home shoulder bag, which brings the added benefit of not really looking like a camera bag, which is important for me.
My questions:
- do you really need to carry a charger with the camera? Why can't this just be packed separately?
- how frequently do you really change lenses when out and about?
- do you also carry another bag for your other incidentals (snacks, water, jacket, etc)?
Whenever I travel, I almost always have a backpack AND the camera bag...It's very rare for me to just have the camera bag when I travel. When out and about locally, sure just the camera bag, but when traveling, I tend to bring a bunch of other stuff with me...

I've decided to sell my recently-acquired DA 40/2.8 Limited lens. I acquired this lens when I traded my K-3 for a K-S2 + 40/2.8.
It's complete - comes with lens, hood, caps, pouch, box.
The lens is sharp - as expected - and focuses perfectly. No issues with it other than some minor surface scratches on the hood. It was like this when I got it.
Selling because the focal length just doesn't suit me; it feels almost redundant with my Sigma 50/2.8 macro, which is just as sharp, but not as compact.
Would love to do a straight trade for a Sigma 28/1.8 macro or Sigma 30/1.4 (the old kind, not the ART lens).
I have taken it out a couple times, but other than that, it has stayed indoors in my camera bag.
Reasonable offers will be entertained...but my preference would be a straight trade. Let's face it - I'm just going to end up getting another lens to replace this, so may as well find someone with the lens I want who wants this lens!

I've been Windows-free for personal use for a while now...And personally, if I post-process, I'll use RawTherapee specifically for its HaldCLUT support. I love Fuji Velvia and Kodachrome filters.

I alternate bags depending on situation.
One lens kind of day? I'll just use my Crumpler 3 Million Dollar Home and the camera/lens combo.
Need to be discrete? I have a nondescript shoulder bag and sewn in padded dividers for incognito carry.
Need to have options? I have a Lowepro shoulder bag that carries everything.
I also have a Q10 with 02 lens that I keep in an optech neoprene case that I bring everywhere. I keep it in my backpack and have it with me every day.
