I have noticed that my KS2's shutter fails to fire on occasion when pressed, it focuses okay but no firing the images produced are not dark, and appear normal as expected, so what is happening, a setting?

I bought an LX

Congrats, The LX is one of the finest cameras ever made,I do believe the likes of which will not be seen again, I bought mine in 1987 for the princely sum of 700 GBP that was half a month's wages then, it still works today,a real jewel of a SLR, Pentax's finest but none in my opinion, the sticky mirror effect has not affected it to any degree, it has never been serviced, it still takes very good pictures, and will be taking it with me on summer holidays to compare with my K-S2, enjoy what is in effect a fabulous piece of engineering, every great company has one, and the LX is Pentax tribute to the world of photography.

Thank you for the quick reply, no it does not have an 'A' setting and the, aperture ring setting is enabled? Not sure what else I can set

Thank you for suggestion, no 'A' ring setting, just standard f-stop settings totally manual, what do you mean ' green button'?

Hi there, hope you can shed some light, I am trying to use this lens with my new K-S2, and whilst it mounts correctly and appears to work well the camera fails to display any F-stop information, any ideas why and what If anything I am doing wrong. Thanks

Spare parts for lens repairs

Well hi again, thanks for the welcome as I mentioned before I have taken delivery of a K-S2 and I am very excited as this is a great camera, I have been familiarizing( I just realised, that you guys over in the States spell things shall we say differently from the mother tongue!, z where s should go!, just a joke no offence) myself with its features and have been taking some photos on the way, will post when I find out how.

I have also been playing with my small range of A series SMC lenses and I have a spare 1.7 50mm prime which has fallen victim to the well known aperture ring problem so my question is can the little metal parts for fixing this little gem be purchased from anywhere, specifically the A-M selecting plate, and the ball bearing spring combo, also the thin metal bar which attaches with a plastic weld.

Thanks

Sticky: Pentax K-S2 Review

Hi guys, apologies for not posting earlier on, a great forum, I have been busy reading some of the many useful bits of information on the forum especially the review on the K-S2 which I found very thorough and informative, I have been a Pentax user and enthusiast for the best part of 40 years, and have an MX, ME Super and my beloved LX, which I consider to be a jewel of a camera.
I have used digital cameras before but not an Pentax or indeed a DSLR at that, and have recently decided to purchase a K-S2, I am waiting for it to be delivered so busy reading etc very excited, I did debate between it and K-50, but finally decided to go the K-S2 way, please convince me I chose well.
