An evening at Mary Mcleod Bethune Beach Park near New Smyrna Beach, FL (Dec. 28, 2016). The Sun bounced off the water just right and through the Mangroves which F32 helped to star. Had to compress this from 20.3MB.

Thank all of you. While my main focus is in photos, I am at a loss as to why such a fantastic innovator like Pentax soooooo far behind the 8-ball on this aspect. I knew from the reviews that the video out of the K-3ii was not equal to Canon but golly gee Batman... why leave no option but compressed!

Does anyone know if we will ever have a firmware upgrade that would change the h.264 compression to uncompressed format so that we can record to an external recorder and get past that 4GB limit because of FAT32 SD cards? I need to be able to record up to 50 minutes without having to stop and restart. I looked at the Atomos Ninja but it does does support Pentax K-3ii due to the h.264 compression. Nikon and Canon will record to the Ninja so why did Pentax go with the h.264 compression? I contacted Pentax and they just sent me back a canned response about lowering my FPS to get longer video....thanks a lot!
Any ideas or news about this?

I used to be a Canon AE-1 and Olympus OM-1 film shooter long ago doing weddings and high school sports photography! After almost 25 years I am getting back into photography. I did months of research and finally decided to get a Pentax K-3ii as its features for the money made it a much better camera for me over the Nikon D5500 I was looking at. Also it had the features that were most useful to me such as weatherproofing, pentaprism viewfinder that helps me with my bad eyesight! The pixel shift and HDR opens up a whole new world of opportunities for me also. I love the GPS feature as well. I have the DA 18-55mm II and HD 55-300 DA lenses as well as a nice Pentax-A 50mm 1.7 prime that is sweet! Anyway, I am thrilled with that and now want to go on photography junkets with my wife and teach her how to use a DSLR rather than her point and shoot. I wanted to get her either the K-50 or K-2S so this is a great opportunity to get one for her. I can't think of any better way spend time with my wife swapping lenses! :)
