After a bit of googling, it turns out that lightroom and camera raw use monitor profiles slightly differently than other programs and that this kind of behavior can happen if the profile is corrupt in some way. So I re profiled it and the yellow areas disappeared. Thanks to all you you that made an effort to help :)

I just noticed that I get yellow areas in some photos, but only when I see them in Lightroom or camera raw. If I export from lightroom they dissapear and if I import from camera raw into Photoshop, they also disappear. The tinted areas also move when I use the expousre/highligts sliders in lightroom so it really feels like a lightroom issue. The issue appears regardless of camera (Pentax K-5 and Pentax K-3). File format is DNG
Does anyone have an Idea of what is happening?

Well, I'm in Europe so I'm a bit ahead of you then :) But even then It looks like we will reach 40k today (Friday), probably due to people posting to make sure they have made the required amount of posts in July

I think he ment that doing that helps the forum while replying in here (like I do now :p) doesn't do anything for the forum members...other that bringing us closer to that K-1 giveaway ;)

I have no Idea what time PT is at now, but we are past 20% now at least :)
So, 1/5 of the needed posts are in so if we keep this up we should reach 40k posts on the 22nd...and end up around 55k total :)

Considering the was quite a lot of debate and opinions regarding the June giveaway, we should be off to a running start for July :p

That might open up for a bit of abuse though. With that mechanic you could open several tabs of the same page with a pre-typed message and then just quickly move thru the tabs pressing "submit reply". The odds of actually catching the window when replies are accepted will increase quite a lot...

An update to my previous post: Managed to clean the mirror using pecpads and isopropanol. Havent had much time to test if it helped the slightly erratic auto focus in low light, but at least it looks much cleaner now :p

Probably a mistake, my guess is that only mods could enter at the correct time, someone noticed this and fixed it a couple of minutes later.

Stumbled upon this thread by accident, but I have the same problems as the original poster where auto focus is a bit unpredictable, especially in low light. So I checked the AF mirror on my K-5 and ofc there are spots on the mirror. I also seem to have a line of dots in the middle of the mirror. I did buy the camera used, but I don't think the original owner messed around in the mirror area. My guess is that there has been a hair stuck there that has left traces of oil or grease, the spots are the same shape and form like the solitary spots. But even if there is a scratch, I'm hoping that cleaning it might get rid of the circular spots in the area and hopefully improve auto focus. Using a rocket blower didn't help so now I'm thinking about trying to clean it (really carefully) possibly using isopropanol alcohol (99.5%) and some kind of cloth or swab. Would a pice of unused microfiber cloth for optics be too abrasive? I have a unopened microfiber cloth for optics at home, and there is no store around where I live where I can buy camera related things. So I would prefer not having to order stuff online and wait for it to arrive :o
