I am using luminar 3
Got the licence for free sometime ago but it is relatively affordable I think.
It is definitely adequet as a replacement for Lightroom. Every other alternative I tested was lacking something

All of them are an upgrade but the k3 would be the better of all 3.
Ks2 and k70 should have pretty close results

This photo was taken in a small river were water creates a small "Waterfall"
It was taken with KS2 and kit lens at f11 and 6 seconds exposure
Editing of the photo was crop and a slight desaturation to create a more -wintery look

P mode is just amazing.
Not sure if other brands have something like this but i am only between Manual and P.
I dont think i could live without this mode, having the camera choose some base setting and just change the correct wheel for shutter or aperture is a great convenience.

Body only has around 3000 shots.
Tried several shots both with DAL 18-50 and A 50 and it seems everything is working correctly
Could the motor have failed/begins to fail?
If i remember correctly with live view, image in screen was visible, but shots were black too

Quick update,
I fired several shots in burst mode with the kit lens on and the problem seems to got resolved.
Contacts seem to be clean, but since the 70-200 was in a relatively bad condition it could cause that
The f-stop was at the selected apperture, it was F- only when using the A50 lens without a setting

Hi All,
So i have a problem with my KS2 that seems to have started when i used an old Pentax A SMC 70-200 f4 lens
Apperture control in A was not working and all photos were coming black. Setting the apperture from apperture ring and using manual mode tehy came out as expected.
After this i used my Pentax A 50 (which was previously working properly) and the same thing happened!
Putting back the kit lens it has the same problem and seems to be stuck at max apperture
Any ideas on what could have failed? Optical preview seems to work correctly and lens stops down in manual mode

Thanks Guys, leanning towards Sigma 17-70 (or maybe the Tamron equivelant depending on which i find cheap).
Although i hadnt thought about coma distortion hopefully i will have a large improvement anyway compared to kit lens. F2.8 at 17mm should in theory be what i need for astrophotography, kit lens can produce some relatively good results but due to f4 i need iso 3200 or 6400 which gives large amounts of noise
Sigma 17-35 1.8 was mentioned which would be a perfect option, but sadly it is very expensive for me at the moment.

DA 14mm is indeed a great offer, however sipping to europe would increase the cost a lot, i will keep an eye for any offers

Hi all,
Looking to move from my kit lens, what i need is a fast wide angle.(did i mention it has to be a cheap one? :p)
Main focus will be for landscapes and astrophotography.
After some research i have reached to Samyang 14mm f2.8.
However lenses like Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 can be found at around the same price.
I dont really mind at all the extra 3mm of Samyang
As i see it the main advantage of the sigma is that it can be used as a daily all around lens covering a larger range with the same apperture wide.
I dont mind the manual focus but it is a bonus.
So the main question is should i go for a fast wide angle prime or a kit lens improvment with f2.8?
Any other suggestions?
Any old manual lens (max 24mm) with at least f2.8 i should have on the watchlist for used?
Thanks!
