Does Pentax SR result in more image noise than DSLRs without in-body SR?

And the reason for weather proofing cameras is so you can pour a cold beer on them to cool the chip. These theories remind me of the armpit vs waving techniques for developing Polaroid. One for in lens stabilization is the moving elements cause blurring wind currents or the heat haze coming off the chip means the top of the photo will always be sharper.

Its like fine wines. Its a matter of taste which may only reach consensus at the level of vinegar.

A generic round hood gives a large area to turn a pola filter as doesn't matter what its orientation is. Wide angles are a different issue as the rectangular hood works better.

Do you think an Infrared Filter would be good for the upcoming eclipse?

I have photographed an eclipse with colour infrared film but still used a silver metallic filter which equally attenuates all light. An IR filter is especially dangerous as it fool the iris into opening up by blocking visible light while letting UV and IR wavelengths through in larger proportions which can damage the eye.
Take care

At the Grand Prix on the weekend and I was asked if my camera was a Pentax. The question came from someone with a K1 and huge Sigma zoom. Had a conversation about high ISO and focusing on 240kmh objects.

The K70 WiFi gives reasonable control from a iPad with Image Sync
You can't please everyone without making the interface impenetrable like some word processors where most features are never used but exist in some deep submenu.

My apologies for an undeserved remark. I have enjoyed your work but did not understand your level of editorial independence. Refreshing to find higher motives than shifting stock.

Coincidence how the outcome favours models with favourable profit margins and sales volumes for the dealer? Tough for dealers in a declining market.

Overdue Upgrade: *istD to K-S2 or K-70?

I have not tried sports on the K-70 yet but have used a K-01 with an old 100-300 lens (when you are interstate and contemplating landscapes). I succeeded in getting some keepers and video using manual focus so using the K-70 should be easy going. Most of the secret in sports is predicting the action and getting a sequence. If you know the sport and are ready for any scoring action you will get popular shots as no one needs to see the misses.

I find all DPReview samples lose something in transmission to not to show marked differences and that is over a variety of devices. Didn't stop me from getting a K-70.

Effective stops of SR between Pentax bodies

Unfortunately the camera holder cannot be standardised or their current physiological state even without alcohol or coffee consumption. The other source of blur is subject movement which will determine the minimum shutter speed to prevent blur.
But i find it hard to go back to non SR bodies. Alternatively think of replacing SR lenses every few years to gain a similar improvement. My new K70 is a genuine return on investment.
cheers Pierre
