I would agree with all the above and also add Uncle Vanya and Clackers. I find their information helpful and informative.

K50 ISO and aperture flashing red at me

If this was the problem it would also do it outdoors.

Bump up the ISO and lower your aperture. At the current settings it cant get a proper exposure. Your ISO ceiling is probably set at 3200 so the camera wont increase it past that.

Craigslist find, K1000 with 50 1.7 for $45 in excellent shape. My first film camera. My parents had a Rebel in the 90's that I took pics with occasionally when I was a kid so this will be fun now that I know a lot more about photography.

I do love my Sigma 50-150 for portraits. It offers a great range for portraits in my opinion and has very good optical qualities.

The Nifty Fifty is a wonderful lens though and I do love shooting with it.

When I am ready to upgrade my K50 I will be going with a K3 for the added AF, FPS and dual card slots. I am curious to see what comes this year.

It was a Cactus Christmas. Bought myself a used RF60 and V6. So far it has been great and I am not sure how I went so long without buying an external flash. So easy to use and feels like great quality.

I was always interested in photography but never really got to into it until my daughter was born. Capturing her life has become very important to me and continuing to learn photography so that I don't miss any moments.

1.) I think with newest update you can use plugins. I was going to give it a try soon with Nik.
2.) I think it works great but I don't have anything to compare it to. Maybe this will help Affinity Photo - Refining Selections in Affinity Photo on Vimeo
3.) Haven't done it.
4.) Now sure what you mean

For people who live out in the country where it will take a police officer to long to respond, a gun provides an added layer of security/defense. Only ever to be used as a last resort in my opinion.

+1

I have never used Photoshop but did the free trial of Affinity Photo and though it was great. Ended up buying it (it is a 1 time fee, not monthly subscription like Photoshop). I think it is excellent and have not yet discovered all it can do. The benefit to Photoshop is that there are lots of tutorials on how to use it but I find that I can still use them for Affinity.

For picture management I downloaded iPhoto Buddy (free) which allows you to create unlimited libraries to organize your photos. It may not be as stream lined as Lightroom but it gets the job done for cheap.

Low light photography?

Since my first DSLR was my K50 I don't have anything to compare it to but I think it handles noise very well. Here is a sample shot with zero processing (unless iPhoto adds anything on JPG export from RAW). This was taken at a friends house with poor light and a semi dirty tank. I would recommend larger aperture lenses though, just buy a body and separate lens.

Lens was a Tamron 17-50 f2.8.
ISO-3200
17mm @ 2.8
Shutter - 1/160

*Edit- Another example

Tamron 17-50 f2.8
ISO-6400
35mm @ 2.8
Shutter- 1/160
