Happy birthday Finn! Thanks for the reminder, I guess we have a shared birthday. 9 years ago today, a stray dog gave birth to nine puppies behind the body shop where I worked.
Skippy, six weeks later. She's the only dog I've ever had whose birthday I know.

I went to a flower show in Boston Mass yesterday. I didn't get any good flower pictures but found some inspiration walking around Quincy Market on a gloomy afternoon.

It was a crazy year for me. My brother moved away with his new wife and I lost my father in October. I tried to stay busy most of the time and managed to meet quite a few interesting people along the way. It wasn't easy sifting through all the images to figure out my favorite portraits of the year. A portrait shot with available light (I'm doing more and more of that now that I have the flashless K-1). Lens used was the FA 77mm Limited. I acquired this lens at a fair price, thinking I'd play with it a bit and resell it at the same price or better, but it's growing on me and now I don't think I'll sell it.

Most of my photography is somewhere near water; the sea and lakes. I guess there is something about a place where water meets land that frees my creative juices... Anyway here are some recent examples.
