I may have to agree with Nesster after I review my photos. Maybe some photos with wide open aperture (F2.8) is shallower, which seems softer... That makes me feel it's not perfectly focused...

Thanks everyone to make me feel better... lol...
I am not trying to prove that this photo is great (which is not imho), I wanted to hear what Falcons say, technically perfect doesn't mean great photography...

:p :D I will definately look back to my old photo...
It's not a Mazdaspeed 3, it's called MP3, one year limited edition. Jetta is mine and MP3 belongs to a friend, but not on the board...

I personally like the way the photo came out... but I got into an argument with someone that suggests me to turn off the headlights.
Of course I know how it would look like with headlights off and longer shutters and I've tried. I prefer the photo came out this way better, but the guy is telling me that I have no idea in photography with those headlights on. It's just kind of depressing to hear that from a guy who doesn't know how to set white balance. :(

I just purchased this lens to replace my kit lens over a week... I've played around with it a lot, but I've gotten much more missed focus photos then I did with my kit lens, some photos look perfect and some look totally missed focused.
Is there any way I can test the lens b4 I return the lens other then keep shooting? I just started shooting with DSLR for 2 months, so it's hard for me to tell that it's my skills or it's the lens that missed focus the photos. :p (I don't think it's the camera because it's focusing great with kit lens) I am wondering if there is any testing technique that I can confirm that the lens is defective? Because I only have 2 weeks if I want to get my money back... @_@

How about the second pic? there is no light around except a light on the ground that shooting towards the people I am shooting. Is that also the lens flare? :( ... I guess I can only be careful...

I've had chances to take some night shots, but I got those "finger prints" lookalike on many of my photos, what kind of filters will get rid of them for good? of is there any web site that explain all different kinds of filters? Thank you. :)

Pins is a good idea, however, it would be fantastic if someone can come out with custom strap which is more comfortable and have "PentaxForums" on it...

Hi dudlew,
I actually crop the similar framing and I have mixed feeling. I like them both.

Hi roentarre,
Yeah, the second photo becomes overexposure with overly contrast, but the color of the flower before photoshopped was too flat... @_@

Hi NaClH2O,
Thx for the compliment, I am still learning with manual facusing, hard to get it right sometimes...

SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7
Added a bit too much contrast to the second photo, but the color of the flower itself wasn't too colorful... |

roy: for what size? 49mm or 52mm?
I never like the idea of reverse ring... ;) I guess I will go with closeup lens with 50-200...

Hi everybody,
I want to get some close-up lens to use MACRO, I have DA 50-200 and M 50mm F/1.7... one is 52mm and another is 49mm.
Which is more practical for MACRO use? 49mm or 52mm? 50-200 hs more zoom capacity and auto focus, 50mm is a faster lens with F/1.7...
Also any good brand recommandation? I've heart people use Canon 250D closeup lens with 50-200 and great result. I also saw Hoya 49mm for 35$ on ebay.
Thx a lot...
