Wonderful Mahaku. Creative in your macro shots and equipment setup. We should wonder why we want to spend so much instead of having this kind of fun.
I like that you have captured several really good compostions of your subjects and not just magnified snapshots.

Remarkably good for a kit zoom. Have you played with one of the nice manual 50mm lenses? Those seem like they'd be great reversed.

And what flash did you use? very interesting! It doesn't look like ring flash, it comes from above. very soft and evenly illuminated.

Did you change the aperture at all? I have seen people moving the aperture with a straw
