DA 50mm focusing click

Hello Fellow Pentaxians,

I just bought the SMC Pentax-DA 50mm F1.8, It appears to be in mint condition.
As I have never had one before just wanted to know from regular users of this lens,
When I first attach the lens to the camera it seems to make a clicking sound on the first focus attempt is this Normal?
I put the camera in Manual focus and through the focus all the way in both directions, and its there again, now it focuses extremely fast so just wondered if its a kind of an internal slap due to the speed of the motor, just to add when it has done it once it seems normal when I just aim and focus on any target.

Many Thanks in Advance

Hi Fellow Pentaxians.

I just bought my first screw mount lens, Asahi Pentax Super Takumar f3.5 135 portrait Lens.
I have a k mount obviously, I need to know why when looking for the adapters on eBay some are just a mount ring and some have what looks like a tool (spanner) / extra bit. which should I get the standalone or the one with an extra bit. and why does the other even have an extra bit ? CONFUESED.
and why are some only £1 pound and some £5 pound?;);););)

pros and cons please.

All The Best take care always :):):):)

Manual Focal Length Settings using Extension rings ???

Hi Pentaxians.

I have a K-3 using SMC Pentax Asahi -M 1:2 / 50 mm Lens
Extension Kit Panagor 12 mm 20 mm 36 mm

So if I just put the lens on its own I guess I have to set the Focal length to 75 mm
so when using an extension tube do i also need to combine the tube size mm + Lens 50 mm x 1.5.crop. Is my understanding of this correct ?

Also when Using a Manual zoom Lens do I need to change the focal length every time I zoom in tighter ? or do I just put in the Maximum focal Length x 1.5 Crop.

and Finally can extension tubes be used combined with a macro zoom lens in Macro Mode ?

Thanks In Advance

K-3 Issue where is the Cute Selfie Button and do they make one That's not bigger than my Head and upper body combined.

When attaching Vintage Glass ie 55mm (full Frame) k-mount do I need to X-1.5 on the focal length. also with vintage 28mm-70mm do you need to change the setting at every Focal stop change you make?

and are non prime vintage a waste of time and money on new camera, say 35-200 zoom ?????

Many Thanks in Advance Happy 2017

just looked on eBay and there is a New Kr £199 that will save you 200 for a start.
It all depends on your budget mate and how you intend to use the end photographic results.
if you are never going to view the photos on anything bigger than a PC/TV you don't need millions of pixels.
and you can get a New K-s2 on Ebay at £387 and a K50 at £300

Nice one E-Man nice treasure haul too I cant wait to try out the vintage with Film can't seem to get the K-3 right just yet lack of experience so maybe full on manual will force me to engage the Gray-matter more and think on. I seem to always have to post process only got a few out of camera good shots so far. but them again ive not put all the time in only a few hours on Camera so i guess it will fall into place soon enough.

Just Found This on Just Scored an SMC Takumar 55mm F1.8!: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review
I bought a new Spotmatic back in about 1965 with one of them. At the time, I couldn't afford the 50mm f1.4. That proved to be a blessing as the 55mm f1.8 does not use thorium treated glass and therefore does not suffer from yellowing with age as the 50mm f1.4 does.
