probably just milyway at the mo but I thought the tracker that is built in would still track on a mulit exposure, because how do you realign the camera!!! i hope star stacker does that for you

Hi people!
So I have the k3ii and want to do some astro. I was thinking of taking multiple exposures or about 90 seconds using the built in astrotracer and then stacking them using the free program you get from the internet but I was just wondering..... if im going to take multiple shots of the same scene to stack up do the and if so how do the stars stay in the same place if its more than one shot?

live view noise and smc dfa 100mm f2.8 macro lens not focusing in live view
On my brand new Pentax K3ii, why is the live view making a weird noise and also my new 100mm Pentax macro not focusing when in auto focus mode?
I an soooo gutted to the bone that I'm already having problems with my lovely new camera that I though was going to be brilliant!!!
So is this normal and just dont use the macro in live view? I can tell you the other lens works ok in live view! what should i do?

yes it really does and I really want to and the 20-40 and 35 macro ltd , basically the whole HD limited range but ill be shagged if i can afford them all at once!!

hi there, yeah im getting the k3ii from Bristol cameras prices are online and they seem pretty cheap in comparison! so your saying the 50mm will be able to do close up face shots? the macro is the WR one.

Would the pentax 50mm F1.8 SMC DA be better than the HD 100mm macro pentax lens because i'm about to make a purchase and the 50mm f1.8 smc da is an added deal option but do i really need it with the 100mm macro for face portraits?

please note that I am deffinatly getting the macro 100mm ad and the da hd 16-85 zoom. so just wondered if i need the 50mm as well? these will be my only lenses.

Thanks for everyone's response!!!!
I have decided to go with the k3ii with the DA100mm macro and the DA 16-85 zoom. this way I can do micro and portrait with the 100mm and with the da 16-85 zoom I can do everything else including astro. thanks for you help!
Another thing is ..do I need a remote timer for astro on a tripod so the k3ii does not wobble?
and do I really need a flash if so which one? will I need a ring flash for macro and can they be used for other general work as well?
also what is a good light and cheap tripod and what accessories shall I get such as filters, memory cards, spear batteries, filters ect....

Hi guys , your right I am new at this but I did do a bit of A level photography at college but that was time ago !!!

So do you think I can get away with just the 20-40 limited for astro, landscape, street... and get the 100mm wr macro with the 1.4 converter for macro and portrait to start off with? size and water resistance is important to me.

Hi this is my first post ever and I'm new to Pentax and haven't even got my camera yet as I'm not sure what lenses I need and want so I was hoping that some of you lovely people might be able to help me out on this matter..
Ok, so the camera that I think I want is the K3ii because its meant to be brill and it had also got the astro tracer built in which is good as I want to do some astrophotography as well. Is this a good choice?
As far as what I am going to use the camera for I will be mostly using it for ..... astro, macro, portrait, landscape and maybe gigs but i'd probably end up drinking some beer and breaking or loosing my camera so probably not gigs so much!!
The main reason I went for the Pentax is because of its weather resistant capabilities and also the same with some of the lenses.
I having a nightmare deciding on what lenses to get as I really wanted the limited series but then found out they are not WR other than the 20-40 limited!!! I am so gutted about this!
Here is a list of lenses i have done lots of research about but still don't really know which to get and if any of them do them same job as each other so I might be wasting my money buying similar ones. Please bear in mind that I would like WR lenses to match the WR camera.
1. Pentax smc, dfa Macro, 100mm f/2.8 WR .....I would get te Pentax hd da af Rear Converter 1.4x aw, to make the macro subject even bigger. Is this a good idea? Also , Is there a ring flash as good as the Pentax af 160 fc that is way cheaper?
what do you recomend for a macro flash option? in and outside?
2. Pentax Da 20-40 limited WR ... I thought that this would be a good take with you everywhere lense but can it do portrait and landscape?
3. Pentax da*star 55mm f/1.4WR , don't know much about this ones uses
4.Pentax DA 55-300mm WR , nor this one either.
5.Pentax da 10-17 3.5-4.5 fishlens . this will be good for arty shots and people in small rooms or spaces
I would also like to know which would be best for astrophotography and which one for landscapes and which for portrait.
I really would like WR and have small size.
also what other equipment would be needed such as SD cards, filters ,uv protector filters, flashers and so on.
If you reply I would be very greatful.
