I've used Tamrons for years, actually since the film days (before digital became such a thing). My first lens was actually a Tamron. I'm not at all knocking Tamron lenses. I actually like Tamron but think Pentax lenses are better, which says quite a LOT as I am so new to Pentax. Canon cameras I've always used. Never used anything else until this Pentax I bought in October or whenever it was I bought it. The minute I tried Pentax I knew that was it for me. Saw the difference immediately and knew it was exactly what I was looking for in quality. I've never tried Sigma lenses however know plenty of photographers that use Sigma, especially Sigma Art now that they have become so big. Heck I'm evening considering a Sigma art myself :) So no Tamron or Sigma hate here, just surprised that THAT particular Tamron lens on that particular model Canon of mine got that image. Long story but those two don't marry together well at all.

I love all the people around the world on here :) Photography really is a language everyone can speak together.

Sorry for the confusion on Pentax/Canon. I'm really new to Pentax and I swore this one was a Pentax shot (because of the colors). Where I see the info in LR does not tell me what camera I was using, only my settings so I was thinking it was Pentax. I just looked at the EXIF file here and I'm amazed that this came from my Canon AND that Tamron lens as well. Ha ... one of the reasons I moved away from Canon was because of this camera and lens NOT taking good photos. I guess this may have been an exception. I absolutely LOVE my Pentax and the sharpness of the photos. I can now shoot with confidence and not have to pray I get a sharp image anymore. Now I always get a sharp image and if it's not sharp, it's my fault.

Thank you .. She's my 18 year old Daughter and has been the face of my business for years ;) I'm quite lucky to have such a beautiful, photogenic Daughter. The red hair is something new sometime in 2016 and it truly does seem to suit her

Ahhh ... This was right at the time I was making the switch and using two cameras so I guess if it says I used the Canon here then this must have been a Canon shot, which actually surprises me. Colors are so vivid on this one and in crisp focus which I'm surprised it wasn't the Pentax. I am still using my Canon as well. I use both cameras untilI get all the lenses and another Pentax body. Always always have a backup and actually love shooting with two as you dont waste time swapping out lenses ;) I'll try to pay more attention. I was in a hurry as the 2016 album was shutting down I thought. Don't care much for Canon BUT it's my backup and I do have more lenses and equipment since I'm newer to Pentax.

Hi Everyone ... new to Pentax cameras so I was limited to what I could upload. Dark day, inside of Starbucks, so had to work with a high ISO and manage the grain

It was actually freezing cold that day. We do have four seasons here ... believe it or not. LOL! Now the seasons DO get confused at times, but today it was in the lower 40's, windy, and cold.

Thank you so much ... I do think I need to keep a paper clip, just incase. I appreciate everyone's help in here SO much. Oddly enough, I've been rocking this sucker with my electrical tape. HaHa! It's held on great and seems to have solved the issue so I'm just leaving it be and hoping for the best :)

That's a GREAT idea. If I ever lose that button at least I have that in my head :) Right now I did the black electrical tape, which looks so professional out in the field. HaHa! Honestly though, you have to look really hard to even notice.

---------- Post added 12-12-16 at 03:15 PM ----------

I'm REALLY loving this camera guys! It's rocking my world, literally! I can't believe the quality I'm getting, the crisp photos! Canon WHO??? It does seem like a tough camera too. That button got me so upset though. I feel like it's affecting the camera and lenses syncing together but then again, I'm SO new to Pentax that it may just be me.

---------- Post added 12-12-16 at 03:18 PM ----------

The button along with the long pin (if that makes sense) attached to it. Basically you can just pop it right back into the hole and it's good to go. I put black electrical tape over it and seems to be going fine. I was more concerned about losing that button that anything. I think I can just keep a good eye on that tape and all should be fine. A little electrical tape is no big deal at all. I'm thinking of getting another Pentax after Christmas as a backup because I always had a backup before (with Canon). NOT quite ready for the K1 yet (the expense) so I am trying to decide do I just get another K5 or got to a K3? Decisions ....

Brand new to Pentax Cameras and forum. Really enjoying it here. A friend of mine, who is on here, wanted me to share this with you guys. This was my first shoot with the Pentax (test shoot with my Daughter at Christmas Tree lot). Added in some fake snow because it's fun

I just switched to Pentax a week ago. I have two Canon cameras that I shot simultaneously with. So no backup Pentax body but have backup cameras for sure

jrpower10 ... that's is EXACTLY what I was planning on doing :) HaHa! I'm afraid for this superglue fix so I was going to use the black electrical tape too because, honestly, it seems like it would be the safer way to go :) Thanks

Stinks Mark ... I WISH she'd buy me a new lens, although I do have to say she did buy my 70-200mm 2.8 four years ago so that was nice of her. Since then NO lenses :( Ha

I'll have to check out this chatty thread.

---------- Post added 12-09-16 at 09:50 PM ----------

mee ... the piece luckily fell right into my hand. Ha! I didn't even know what it was at first so I just put it inside my camera bag and eventually I realized ... ooh, NOT good! I have it back on there now. The lenses are now connecting and doing fine now but at first, when I put the button on, the lenses were giving me a fit. I read some threads on it. Said super glue. I say NO WAY am I touching this thing with superglue! I then read the most brilliant response "black electrical tape". So I'm OFF to get some of that to hold that button in place so I won't lose it and hopefully that will rig the issue until I figure out something else. In the meantime, as long as it works AND I don't lose it ... I'm ok with it.

Did a shoot the other day and the lens started acting a little whacky, I think because of the button issue and it hadn't completely locked in. Long story, I brought my Canon along for the ride just incase. OMG ... the image comparison made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! I couldn't believe the difference, even with my lens not acting right due to the button falling off. It was hysterical. Never again ... I'm a Pentax girl all the way now :)
