Thank you all... I'll probably try to take it apart myself.
I was just wondering if this was a common problem, the lens was stored in a cabinet fairly dust free

Pentax-F 50mm f1.7 Stiff focus ring

Hi All,

few months back I bought a Pentax F 50mm f1.7 online.
In first the lens was in perfect working order but few day ago I realised that the focus ring is become very stiff.
it's stil possible to manual focus but nearly impossible to use autofocus.
At close distance and infinite the focus ring is smooth as usual but between 0.8m and 1.5m is very stiff and the camera can't pass that point.
Same behaviour when not mounted on a camera.

Any ideas on how to fix the issue?

Pentax 645 Grip Battery Terminal & Holder

Hi, I have a similar issue with my camera.
My holder is cracked but not broken, so the camera is fully usable for now.
Last week I asked a friend of mine to 3D print a new battery holder, not the usual 6xAA, but a converted version that will require 2x9V.
After a bit of sanding the piece fits well (there's a gap on the side but we will probaby print it again). In the next couple of days he will complete the wiring, I believe in the converted model is quite straight forward.

This is the link to the 3D part
There's also a traditional 6 battery version from the same user

I will keep you posted if you are intrested

Few resellers still have one model in stock, thing is that most of them don't ship outside the country.

Almost 12 months ago I replaced (DIY) the solenoid on my K-S2. The repair was succesful until few weeks ago dark images started to reappear.
For some time I tought buying a SONY A7 ii, until I found a great deal for a KP.
Not just an ordinary KP but a limited edition one, that celebrates the 100 years of foundation.
Unlike the KPJ, in my model functionality and materials are the same as a regular KP.
An official "100 years of history" logo and a random year between foundation to 2019, are printed on the camera boby
In the box I found few goodies including the hotshoe cover.
Only 101 cameras are available and I believe (but don't quote me on this) it's an exclusive for the italian market (FOWA).

For the next weeks I'll be busy studying all the new features and testing it's capabilities,
I know for sure that it's going to be a great successor of my K-S2.

The K-S2 will be the designated to my PLM telezoom, and maybe I will convert it to IR.
