Misc yellow sky during a storm

Sorry for the poor composition and all but it was raining baseballs and I was not set up for WR, nor did I have time but nevertheless felt compelled to take a few quick photos of a sky bleeding yellow like I have never seen before. Just wish I had been ready

Just did a quick conversion from the raw to jpg, will try to post a processed copy when I get around to doing them.

Yes, I gathered that much, what I meant is he could provide more clarification (does he mostly focus on taking photos of products in the shows, does he take pictures for his company's booth only, of the crowds and people or just a bit of everything).

I mean if he mostly does product photo vs photos of people present at the events, the recommendation may vary... sorry if that wasn't made clear :)

A really useful calrification that you could provide would be what type of photography you mainly do and what is the most critical aspect of the upgrade for you.

The k-3 and k-70 suggested are good choices (you could always get a k5ii/iis, I mean sure, it's an older body/sensor with less MP and options but depending on your needs it may fit the bill and would definitely leave you a ton more cash leftover for glass and accessories if you manage to find it on the cheap).

Just providing an alternative depending on your need it may or may not be suitable

Ok so yesterday I managed to pick up 2 me cameras with a m-28mm f3.5; m-50mm d2 and a vivitar 75-205.

Today I managed to pick up a bunch of old gear including a me super, a spotmatic, a m-50mm f2, a takumar 28mm f3.5,, a takumar 135mm f3.5, a takumar 50mm f1.4, a soligor 80-200 f3.5 and a komura teleconverter (?) as well as a pentax f-50mm f1.7 and a few other things all for about 100$... From what I can tell the F-50mm f1.7 is worth more by itself than the entire price paid

And I might have just found a bunch of Takumars for cheap... (not sure yet as seller listed it in incomprehensible way and didn't provide photos, I think it's just someone clearing their old stuff and that gear wasn't theirs) hopefully they are in decent shape ( from what I gathered there is a 135 f3.5; a 28 f3.5 and two other unknown lenses... the guy was just listing numbers at that point... bonus it comes with a spotmatic that is apparently in working order)

Should be picking up a few used lenses in the next few days including an: m-50mm f2, m-28mm f3.5 and a vivitar 75-205 for about 60$ canadian... Am also waiting on a possible sale of a F-50mm f1.7 for a measly 40$cdn (which is a steal from what i can tell)

This seems to have sidetracked a bit so here:

Just bought an acer 32 in 1440 monitor for real cheap because it had a scratch on it (that is now only noticeable in extremely light backgrounds)

Also, please note I am accepting all lense donations still

 (I tried lol)

That illusion was maginfied because my glasses were crooked lol (if you know anything about astigmatism, my eyes are football-ish shaped which causes distoritions in my vision... Glasses have a cylindrical component to them to correct this distortion [wall and floors are not completely straight when I don't have my glasses] but if they are severely misaligned on my face if tends to mess with the perception/correction which completely threw me off originally when I looked at the photo)

Was going to comment on how i could see a greenish glow around the objects... then I realized my glasses were offset and it was my astigmatism causing me to perceive a green outline... FML lol

Thanks for the input, I'll make sure to check for haze and fungus if/when the seller gets back to me. (I will probably end up sending you a pm once I know exactly what the lenses are, if you don't mind, to get an idea if they are any good/worth it)

Yeah sorry about that lol it is indeed a 55mm (I was looking at a 50mm 1.4 earlier, probably mixed up the two).

Hello, found a listing for an old spotmatic with a few lenses and other accessories.

The guy doesn't provide a description on the lenses (and only the 50mm f2 is visible fromt the front).

You will notice a big lens in the same photo (long sitting vertically) and I am curious if anyone had any idea what that lens might be (waiting on answer from seller but if I can figure it out before he answers me I may be able to get a great deal out of it)

@mightymike I know you deal with a lot of lenses, any idea what any of those could be just by looking at them in my picture?

Best 300mm lens on a budget

I can't speak for a 300mm lens as I have yet to find one on the cheap (same as you, am still looking). In the meantime, I have the SMC M 200mm f4 (which I picked up in a thrift store for less than 30$) and while not exactly the effective range you are looking for, I was extremely surprised by the IQ of such a cheap lens.

Here is a link to the lens review SMC Pentax-M 200mm F4 Reviews - M Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database over 95% of people have recommended the lens and it is highly rated... As far as moon photos go, I think it should be decent for your uses (In fact I might give my 200mm a try tonight during the penumbral eclipse if the weather permits it).

Just my 2 cents but I highly recommend the 200mm if you can find one

Retrofit PLM AF on older lenses

The cost to develop such a solution probably far outweighs (reasearch and engineering) the profit they would make from the small niche that would want that service (Pentax is aleady a niche so that would be a niche in a niche). either that or the cost to have it done would just be ridiculously expensive.

Nice photo of contrasting lines, I like it. Seeing as this is the critique section I will just add this, it feels a bit busy (in the sense that I don't know what to look at as all the contrasting lines offer a different aspect... could just be me though)
