Peter,
I purchased a filter adapter tube which basically screws onto the 58mm thread and extends it - like this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003B3DZ3M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
This allows me to then use a step up ring to attach this to the larger adapters for my Lee SW150 holder although it does result in significant vignetting unfortunately.
I may pick up a couple of slim circular 58mm for this lens, although I have considered selling it and just picking up the FA35/2 as stopped down its meant to be very good on the K1 and doesn't have the same filter issues!

Didn't see a dedicated thread for this one but given the interest in wide angle options for the Pentax K1 I thought it was worth starting.
I don't go wide an awful lot so picked this up for a fraction of the cost of the much larger, heavier and expensive new "Pentax 15-30 f2.8" lens.
Initial impressions are that the lens is good for the cost, I'm sure that the 15-30 is probably better but I don't believe its worth the cost for me as I don't shoot ultra wide that often.
Couple of shots from me taken in East Lothian, Scotland with the K1 on a grey January day! 20170103 - Bass Rock from Seacliff Harbour 3 by Chris Mitchell, on Flickr 20170103 - Seacliff Harbour by Chris Mitchell, on Flickr

A three year cycle isn't strange for a non-resource restrained company. Nikon and Canon tend to stick to a 3 year (and longer) cycle for their updated full frame DSLR's.
At this point the technology seems to have effectively plateau anyway in the DSLR market which hopefully will give Pentax a chance to catch-up in those areas where the K1 is still lacking a little behind the direct Nikon and Canon competition such as AF.
