These Barn Swallows were seen squabbling over a nearby nest. The location was behind the maintenance shed at Parker River Wildlife Refuge, a.k.a. Plum Island, in Newburyport, MA, USA. This would not be able to meet the standards for a true Nature photo category, but it is a favorite image of mine, and worthy of hanging on my wall at home as fine art.

For me, the choice to go with Pentax in the beginning of my journey with a digital SLR was due to the availability of lenses at reasonable prices. This is no longer the case. If I had to choose a system today, given these outrageous prices, I would consider another major company. Please consider lowering the street prices... not just one day a year, but 365 days a year.

I was just prompted to post or risk losing my account. Obviously, I'm not an active member, but I enjoy using this forum and other similar forums for research on cameras, lenses, accessories and techniques.
I have always loved photography and had my first SLR back in college. I made the jump to digital when I thought I could afford it and I have never looked back. I now have a K10D and a variety of new and old glass. I enjoy bird photography, digiscoping, landscapes, macro and I have started to dabble in portrait work. I joined the local photo club a couple of years ago and I enjoy the new friends, competitions and learning new techniques.
Hello all and I hope to be more active.
