This is tricky..I pregifted my wife the Tous metal thing she wanted..( whats with this fake gold lead core bear anyway??)..just because I secretly offered up a Tamron 17-50 at Roberts, lol..So we're even and she even doesnt know it yet..I already told not to gift me anything ( I love a clean conscious)

Ok, kind of strange that the model is Caucasian, when every Pentax corporate model was Asian, as far as I know.

No, the average Joe already has a aps-c camera, but is looking to upgrade, because he/she is influenced with the bokeh and bigger viewfinder, I already stated this on my second post. They want that pro neighbor look, call it envy.
And the propaganda is there, clear and real, on almost all camera review sites. Sony is having a joy ride with this..
Those Nikons and Canons are old, I give you that, but there are still on the shelves and have the usual warranty, which is very very utmost important for new buyers.

You select a camera that you know that would be used most of the time in urban areas..hmm lets get a GR..
Ok, lets create a grip that contains the cellular/Bluetooth module and an alternative RTOS/Android module.
Touchscreen 5.5 inch is a must.
Upgradeable apps and a micro desktop, extendible to your smartphone and computer, like a DLNA device
I want that when I connect the grip to the GR, the GR will have an alternative menu, optimized to view and share with contacts and accounts.

The K3, for the money you have, and a used Tamron 17-50 2.8..The K3 has a excellent screwdrive motor to avoid pesky SDM issues..

I would say that its describes pretty nicely the K5iis, as the pinnacle of Pentax features in a single camera, such exceptional low light focusing, ISO 80 and very good dynamic range all the ISO range, almost perfect handling, grip available,wireless flash,etc..Features that,like mentioned before, you would had to mix a Nikon,Canon, and a bit of Panasonic of that year, to have a more or less equivalent..not to mention the K-mount..
Although the K3 and up are much better in some areas, which is expected from newer models, they are considered upgrades, not having breaking news features..The K1 will be the next classic in Pentax lineup..
You have to wonder why the K5iis still retains a high price on Ebay, compared to newer models from other brands..

Sept 9 update..pic removed, it seems that Postimg.io has been hacked. it hotlinks hosted pics to porn site..Finding a suitable host..
Flow is going towards inland, which is quite remarkable, as it shows the current's underlying force..
Irma left almost 80% Martinique and Barbados devastated, and its on way to Florida..
