My understanding is that the KP focuses faster with the new PLM lens than with the older lens. Perhaps Pentax needs to put more effort into the motor component of new lenses and roll out a series of DFA lenses that would help the K-1 to look better.

Hi,
after many beta releases finally there is the first public release, the v 1.0.0 (we are now at the v 1.0.4.0). It's freeware and you can see more info and download it from: Wifi Commander for Pentax
The procedure to install is:
- Download the zip file and unzip it to a new directory.
- From this directory launch the setup.exe file
- There may be a warning, about the software Editor, but go ahead
After this you have to connect the camera with the computer through the wifi lan, you can check the procedure (where is the password, how you can activate the wireless hot spot, etc..) on the camera manual.
When the camera wifi hotspot is active you can connect as you already do with a normal wireless router or access point.
On the k-1 manual the title of the section is "Using the Camera with a Communication Device.
If you have problems with NORTON please check this https://community.norton.com/en/forums/how-get-norton-360-stop-deleting-prog...t-thinks-virus
I hope that you could find it useful.
Cheers!

A friendly reminder to some recent posters to not get personal. I think there are lots of informative contributions here and I really don't want to have to slip on my moderator hat.

Totally agree Clackers.
I enjoy using the A series lenses. They don't drain any power.

Pentax Developers "We have created a Firmware update that can improve high iso image quality and speed up pixel shift on the K-1. Look here."
Pentax Marketing "Thats pretty good. Why don't we apply update to all new K-1's and call it a K-1 mark II."
Pentax Developers "Whatever"

Without seeing the lens AND the mount you used I would not be able to comment.
However, I do know that there are 6 different Leitax R to Pentax K adapters. One has to be careful when ordering your R to K mounts to order the correct one. Might want to double check to make sure that you have the correct Leitax adapter.
Next, while installing a Leitax R to K adapter is fairly easy to do, I suppose that one could make a mistake during the installation that might result in an incorrect registraion distance...

I'm a K30 owner, no wifi card or 55-300PLM (I have to make do with a F*300 f4.5). Changing the filename would be useful but does the hack really improve the AF? How does a genuine K50 compare to a hacked 1.10 K30 regarding AutoFocus? The hardware is the same but better AF algorithms in the 1.10 firmware?
I don't believe the ISO 'raise' works though in practical terms, 12800 is impractical for my photography without needing 25600 anyway. I think true high ISO improvements requires better hardware (electronics to boost the signal that is collected). Probably the K50 marketing department thought of the ISO boost and then went silly with the ISO claims of the Pentax KP!!!

Terrific photo, Jeff.
I do a fair amount of automotive photography and usually post under the "Machinery" category. I also just jointed the Car Loving Pentaxian group - I've been on the forum since its inception, but I was unaware of that group. :o

If I was Ricoh President responsible for imaging business i would revamp the lenses line by bringing the budget 35/50/85 f/2 lenses with WR and DC motors as quickly as i can. Those lenses are the best sellers in any system and can be made cheaply and in large amounts to finance more ambitious projects, as for example f/1.4 line and zooms.
