Welcome to contest #193. We all live scattered around this globe and as I'm always curious I would love to see something that's really typical for your area. Doesn't matter what as long as it's a nice composition and I want it in monochrome.

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1" (some exceptions below).
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, Ricoh GR, any 110 film, 35mm point and shoots from the 1980s/90s (e.g. Pentax PC35AF etc.)
Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close April 30, 2024 midnight CST.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest ending.

Thanks for participating,

OMG I wasn't expecting that answer when I asked if anybody was home. LOL Thank you bogwalker for the honour. I've been breeding sheep for 40 years and stopped last year, because I couldn't handle the rams anymore at my age. So WOW, now it's up to me again to find a subject. I really loved yours though.
It's late now, I will cook something up tomorrow.

Sheep shearing clutter and clutter from a scrap collecter. Well, the latter himself thought it was no clutter at all. :D

Ok, a bit late, but here I am. First of all: I had hoped for more sunsets, but I love all entries, beautiful sunsets. The ones that stood out for me were the entry of John5100, Bart's third entry and the entry of Kiwizinho. Scrolling up and down many times I finally choose Kiwizinho's entry to be the Winner. Congrats and thanks to all for participating.

Welcome to the P&S Competition #182! This month's theme is Sunset, but the catch is that I don't want to see the sun.
First I thought something about Spring but then it isn't Spring all over the world, but sunset is. Have fun, make some new, dig up some oldies. I just love sunsets. The painter of skies can be very creative at some times.

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1" (some exceptions below).
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).

Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close:

New York, United States
Sun, May 31, 11:59pm (EDT)

Below some of mine. Love to see yours.

Love the entries. KWB I don't mind oldies at all. My entries in the contests are always oldies. Coming week I'm not around so much, have to travel up North for sheep business at the end of the week for three days.

Oh WOW UncleVanya, that's a big surprise. Thanks for the honour. Now I have to think up a theme this evening because tomorrow we have an all out electric in my area. They have to work on the electric network so we have to plug out all that have to be plugged in to work all day. So no Freezers, no fridges, no tv, no pc, no cable telephones, no lights, no machines, nothing. Just like the very old days LOL. So in stead of sitting here doing nothing, I decided to give myself a present and drive over to my regular fishing pond tonight and see if I can catch some trout. We don't have wild trout overhere.
So I have to do some thinking and let you know as soon as possible.

Bart, congrats, I truly thought your beautiful black and red would win. I also like KWB's orange/rust very much.

You can see that in the exif, I use an old Sony Cybershot F717. I always use automatic because I know nothing about the tech stuff. Studied it many times but it just won't stick into my brain. LOL

Thanks, I wish I could've saved it, but that wasn't possible. It was a damp wall, painted over many times with some thick stuff as you can see. It was not just this piece, it was over a much bigger area. I took many photos. Here's one of a bigger area. If it had been higher up the wall I would've tried to preserve it and frame it. It was however on the lower part. Nature is still the best artist there is sometimes.

I've been away too long. Time to return. I just love textures. Here are my entries. Oldies but they fit the theme I think.
Foto 1 is an old reed roof of an old barn in the province Drenthe, Netherlands.
Foto 2 speaks for itself I guess.
Foto 3 When I was removing the old layers of paint from an old wall in our old farmhouse, this network of fungus appeared.

A bit early for most of you guys, but for me it's September 1 and I have to leave to my sheep inspections in a few hours. Thanks to all for participating in my little contest. It's always difficult to pick a winner so I narrowed it down to 'which photo would I love to have hanging on my wall' (if I had the place for it LOL).

So....the winner this time is......Sea legs by Vendee! Congratulations. There's a lot to see in this photo. Love the contrast, the different textures and the seagull.

Great entries so far, keep them comming. Think out of the box. The legs don't have to be human or being attached to a human.

Thanks for all your beautiful photos. I've scrolled up and down many times and each time I got stuck at two photos:
Barondla's double rainbow and the black and white bridge of Vendee.I really like the contrast of the clean bridge lines against the fragile branches of the trees and the lighting is just beautiful. Since I am a big fan of black and white, I choose the photo of Vendee as the winner of this competition.

Congratulations Vendee and thanks all for your participation.

Ok, first of all sorry for taking so long, but real life got in the way. My eldest daughter tested positive on Corona the day after I had visited her. So I had to selftest myself and luckily I was negative. I stayed home for a few days to make sure and then I got pc troubles. All is ok now.

The subject I choose for this month's contest is BRIDGE
Every kind of bridge counts, from supreme architectural bridges to just some planks over a ditch, over water or over land/roads
Have fun and surprise us.

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1"
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
