It’s not quite dead yet. What you have found is the code for the Indi/Ekos Pentax driver, it’s used for astrophotography.
Andas Salamon is maintaining the original pktriggercord, check his web page right here: https://pktriggercord.melda.info/
I have been in contact with Andras twice the last couple of years, doing some testing with my K-70 camera, I wanted to assist fixing a couple of bugs in the Indi driver.
You can find “DrawsACircle” mentioned in the source code :)
Nice to see a fellow Dane here :D

Hope it’s ok, it’s a Pentax DA* lens, but not a Pentax camera.
Using my DA*300 for astrophotography, the camera is a ZWO ASI533MC Pro - I cannot get myself to sacrifice my K-70 on the altar of astrophotography by removing the UV/IR cut filter.

If I did that, I could pay Pete a visit :)
I’m not sure the weather is better at his place compared to the mid-west part of Denmark - still grey and cloudy :(

The orange light on the back tells you if it’s saving the buffer - blinking equals saving.
Have you checked the firmware version? 1.11 is the one to use.

And a K-70 firmware fixing the remote shooting bugs/making it compatible with the KP/K1.

My K-70 will be 3yo December 24th. I fixed the battery lifetime (2nd. post) and I still haven't identified any missing feature/functions on it.
It's a fantastic camera!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned, don't walk close to the tripod when shooting, that will also cause shaky pictures.

If you want to use the DC128 coupler on th KP, I guess you need to modfy it a bit, I use it for my K-70, but the battery lock is positioned on the other side on the K-70. Glue a piece of plastic on the DC128 coupler like I've shown, perhaps make a groove in the coupler for the wire, then you should be ready to go :)
Edit: you can't use it - there's no exit hole for the wire on the KP like there is on the K-70. If you want to use the coupler, you need to keep the lid open, but that will only increase the risk of damaging the camera. The grey part under the wire on my K-70 is a rubber part that you just pull out, then you can close the lid while using the coupler. |
