The adaptall-2 28mm 2.5 on crop...I'd only taken a handful of pictures with it previously and wasn't fussed, so this SIC was about seeing if it could offer something interesting, or if it was better to move the lens on.
The negatives:
- Adaptall-2 mount aperture ring often has to be twisted to the left (when on A mode) for the camera to realise the aperture when powering on, and sometimes requires re-adjusting during shooting
- At one stage I noticed the OVF was darker than usual and found that the lens wasn't wide open for metering. A lens-off, check the aperture lever (fine) and lens-on fixed it
- Blue flares (and perhaps sometimes internal reflections from strong light sources?) can ruin otherwise OK shots
- Not so sharp
- Focus assist did not seem to be all that accurate (false confirmations), especially at longer distances. Many times I used live view to focus instead, which slows things down, especially with the fixed-angle screen of the K5.
- Needs a hood when moderate light is around the corner. Used my hand to block the stray light sometimes.
The positives:
- Lights can sometimes almost give Cinestill-like halation look
- Plenty of flare on tap, could be interesting for video applications
- Softer renderings can be useful sometimes
The negatives still seem to outweigh the positives for the lens - but at least I got heaps of images (many not posted), and took way more photos than I otherwise would have if I didn't do the SIC.
Cheers,
eldavo

It was developed and scanned at FotoFast in Oz.
I've had a fair bit of stuff scanned there and not observed the same issue. It's the only roll of XP2 I have used though.
Two more bad photos, but good examples of the issue, attached.

Using an SF7 recently, I observed some artifacts on my film that lead me to think that there was something amiss with the shutter - but I guess it could be anything, dodgy film, developing, etc.
Sample pictures below show some intensity banding, of varying severity. Not all pictures on the roll seem to show it, and the film I used before this didn't seem to show it. It hasn't seemed to affect flash sync (picture of the person with the camera.)
Any ideas what might be causing it?
Film was Ilford XP2 super 400. Lens was 200mm F/3.5 Vivitar.
Cheers,
Dave
