AK-1000 was the first DSLR I used 40+ years ago, and I fell in love with takingpictures. Then came an ME Super and later the ZX-7. Also played around withNikon, Olympus, Voightlander, Fuji and Cannon 35 mm cameras. Someyears prior, I had used my father's Leica M3 and I had played withthe Kodak instamatic and Polaroid. SLR's were the “ultimate” photographic toolsfor me, including the experiments with the film in the dark room. I have triedmany, many lenses (fixed focus, zoom, macro, mixed, etc.) and many, manyfilters and other gadgets for the cameras (flashes, timers, drive motors, panning motors, remotes, etc. etc.). Pentax was clearly my favorite. However, around 2003, I started using digital and I left Pentax behind. Then, Iretired in 2012 and almost retired all of my cameras, except the i-phone whichbecame the one I used the most... "sigh!" until now! I hadnever owned a full frame DSLR and a few weeks ago I ran across areview of the K-1. The light room of my brain flashed brighter than a thousandof the flash bulbs I used in my early years. I immediately bought my K-1 and Iresurrected my old K mounts. So I'm a Pentaxian again (I think...). Yesterdayand today I played some with the K-1. Mostly I played with the depth of fieldand the 300 mm zoom. Here are some FF and cropped images. |
