He contacted the rental company about the lens and he also posted the email he got from them. He just got a bad lens. He also added that he hopes that other people start doing more Pentax review if you have the lens. He seemed very sincere, unfortunately he may have to re-rent some gear to redo it.
Just got to wait and see what happens.

those look fantastic. I would go with the 150-450 because of the zoom. But the prime is nice too

Yea, I agree. I also own several different brand and see it as a tool. I would jump ships if the camera does what I need it to do. I know for some, people invested very deep on the system with the lenses and its hard to jump ships.

If they made a K1 with more FPS, it would be an amazing accomplishment.

So I went on youtube to see if there is anything about Pentax flash that I can post up here.
Seems like he recently made a video about it. You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Bu2MBnWmykA?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
I notice in this video, he is using a Cactus with the 360.
It looks like with the Cactus you can use flash on your M43 system You Tube |

Exactly.
you see gentlemen, that is how exactly a proper feedback is. ---------- Post added 01-17-17 at 05:59 PM ----------
I dont want to be boring as this one person suggested on a video.
I will answer , and that is Em5-Mk II, G7/ though it doesnt allow Ibis in 4k video mode and shooting mode. I bought the GF7 but I resold it due to the shutter button. It was made cheap and it felt like it was going to fall off if I used it another year or so. Great compact M43, but they need to fix that issue. Though they are releasing a new version with 4K mode but lacks every other feature that the other models have which is flippy screen, cropping in 4k, weather seal and the list goes on. I like the Gx8, but there is no ibis during 4k recording. If it had that and no crop in 4k recording, it would been a champ.

I agree.
Imagine this.
Thanksgiving dinner, someone brings up a topic, a new thread. Difference between M43 and Full Frame. All you hear was " it ispointless" " it is boring".
Who is in the wrong? I agree, keep it friendly or people who aren't will get a rebuttal that requires some heat.
If you are going to say something that is pointless or boring, Don't say anything at all and move along.

thank you.
As some of us many want to slowly invest on 2nd camera, mirror less, this gives us an idea on what to expect from these other smaller sensor system. The Gx8 is same Image quality as the G85 that just came out 2 months ago.
Going back to the video, you can get good quality with some post processing on m43. You can also achieve that bokah affect but not as close as full frame but still you can get it.

K1 has the newer Sensor, newere Af, tiltscreen and also FF giving you better iso noise performance beating out many of the rivals such as D810 and Canon Mark IV.

I think this is more towards the M43 community than us but its nice to watch the iso being tested against a crop sensor.
Makes me feel good in owning a K1.
Cheers!

Yea , youtubers get flamed alot for these test.. You should check out tony northup and how he test af . gets his wife / daughter walking towards them in the kichen lol. they could miss a half a step or walk an extra step and it can change the results lol. Heck Tony northup claims he cant track a truck with the K1 + 70-200. People love his handsome face tho lol.
cheers!

Hmm Im confuse. If you saw part one, which show how they were shooting, and the equipment they had maybe? You know this is part 2. ---------- Post added 01-14-17 at 08:44 AM ----------
Exactly! thank goodness some people get it. The guy even said its not even at all. He is just showing what they got. Also its birding. You wont ever get same condition all the time.
This isnt a news paper test lol.No wonder youtubers get blast alot. Have you seen Tony Northup on how he test his gear? Have his daughter walk in a kitchen and he just blast to test the af. What if she missed a step or 2 or walked slower than previously.
cheers!

About 18 seconds in the video he said that this comparison isnt even at all. This was to give us an "idea" on what their system can do.
He was just showing a similar image that they both took and wanted to compare the difference. An image that is close to be similar but much far apart in terms of gear, setting, tripod, distance and lighting as he mentioned in the video.
This isnt your typical newspaper text font test on the living room wall. This is an actual on field review just to give us a "general idea".
Though other channel also do these kind of test. You Tube |

Yes I agree, I like to see some of the bird in flight side by side. Im pretty sure they took the same picture of the same bird in flight. He did mentioned that the FPS is a huge difference. I bet if we ask on the youtube, maybe we can get something similar with these static one. It may not be the same settings/distance and all since the Pentax user was shooting all manual, but if they can show us something smilar in IQ then that would be nice to see as well. ---------- Post added 01-12-17 at 11:30 PM ----------
Yea, I agree. I think the major player is in that Canon 500MM f4 lens. Thats what a 9 Grand lens can do for you. Make image looks sharper even tho the body is only 20MP with AA filter on that 7d mkii, bokah looks smooth, and seems like less CA than the Pentax.
I predicted wrong in terms of sharpness, the canon really had a hair or two over the Pentax.

hey guys
I was buying a flashpoint streak light 360 from adorama. It came with a transmitter and receiver. I was like sweet! I can attach this on my k1 and shoot manual flash.
Some reason it didnt work and I contacted Adorama. They told me I need the Cactus in order to send out a signal to the transmitter to the receiver.
I just want to know if anyone is having this issue?

This was an excellent video!
I guess I can see what a 9 K lens vs a 2.5 K lens can do. We all know the Canon 7dmkii is an extremely popular camera, but with a $9000 Lens is crazy ~!
I think right before the video, I was telling myself, yea the Pentax cant keep up with af and the buffer rate against the Canon 7Dmkii ; however, I wonder if 36mp with a 150-450 can push out enough detail against this canon setup which is about $10,000 lol. Holy crap. You Tube |

I know alot of people got freaked out when he said the AF is excellent on the K1 - 150-450 but check this one out from another nikon shooter on the Pentax. The Great 24-70mm F2.8 Shootout! (Featuring Sony, Pentax, Canon and Nikon) - YouTube ( see what he said around 6:55 )
thecamerastoretv and thecameraville are both using the Pentax for the first time and they are both Nikon shooters. I am quite happy to know that Pentax is really keeping up with the competition.
@biz-engineer nice!
Also the price went up on the 150-450mm. It was on backorder over at adorama this past month. Crazy to see that happen since its been out for a year.

According to this nikon shooter. It does track very well. I looked at his birds in flight on his flckr. Do you know how hard is it to get a bird in focus going towards you? He seem to be updating the flckr page quite a bit.
Looks like he also owns the D500 as well and stated that it isnt as good as the D500 but as good as the D7200 which is pretty good. I believe the D7000 series for Nikon is for mid pro shooter. I remember the d7100 being one of the best budget apsc birding camera long long ago.
Also its a known fact that nikon 200-500 is all having lens issue. Thats why tons of refurbished are showing up lately for 1,100 bucks. turns out the af is off. Unlike other lens for the nikon, the 200-500 telephoto might be Nikons first tele lens budget friendly made in china.

I dont know if he even owns one. I think just like theCameraville guy, Tony Northup also rented out a Pentax from his viewer. So Im guessing he isnt really a real Pentax owner at all. He shoots for 1 day or 2 and blast the AF for not tracking a car lol. On that 70-200 :(

Af is great if you are shooting still subjects or slow moving targets.
fast moving subject nope. fuji af is fine but follow a bird and call it a night. It wont do it as well as your dslr and that is a known fact .
Ill give it credit, its getting close as olympus emi mkii started the conversation. Anything before Olympus emi mkii isnt good AF for fast moving object. However at that point you are paying 2k for it .

Yea , I made this post before,
Alot of places dont give Pentax any respect. They dont even list it as a brand of camera on some forums. Its under like alternative. You walk into a best buy, you dont see a Pentax at all. We are losing traction in the market for sure. Gotta step it up.
Also, the 70-200 , I saw Tony northup using this lens or something similar, I think it was this lens. with a Pentax K1 and said that the AF is bad and terrible. Wont track a moving CAR! Angers me!

The only thing I hate about mirrorless camera so far is..
#1 Battery life is terrible.. need to buy alot of it, third party dont last long.
#2 AF is bad, aside from the new olympus, all the Mirrorless AF isnt as accurate as DSLR. Maybe Pentax can just slowly blend in?..
#3 buying new lens for it! They gotta make native mirrorless mounts! Not make us buy new lens for it! WTh..
#4 Cost alot! Take out the mirror, and still cost more with the mirror. Im confuse! ( general)
#5 EVF... thats all I want to say... EVF...
