I did a bunch of research on Marumi filters about 8 months ago and do not recall seeing any reference to these Brass CPL Digital Pro filters. In looking around the internet they appear to be a new product offering from Marumi. All I can say is that each of the Marumi filters I have purchased has been excellent in use and the reason I purchased them were the very high ratings in various analyses by reviewers combined with their price relative to other brands in the same quality range. |

It will do the job, but it is a cheap Chinese brand. I always advise to remove the small locking spring from those, because it can cause the adapter to get stuck in you body. The lens won't get locked but most lenses will stay put as long as their focussing is smooth enough. For a genuine adapter look on ebay (they never come with a removal tool as it is not needed). They are pretty pricey but you could take a shot at this one: GENUINE ASAHI OPTICAL CO., M42 LENS MOUNT ADAPTER FOR PENTAX K PK CAMERA BODIES | eBay |

I've seen plenty of bad 135mm lenses around, so I'd be inclined to be quite picky with them. The Tokina is the best I've tried to date.

You might want to have a look at this thread; Minolta MD/MC to Pentax K Mount - PentaxForums.com
Adapters for the use of Minolta bayonets on Pentax need an optic in them to enable infinity focus. If the adapter is a cheap one the results from using one may be degraded.

The RMC Tokina 135/2.8 is a lovely lens and was also made in Pentax K mount. I have it in both K and SR mounts (Minolta's manual focus lens mount is called SR, not MD or MC, which are lens series designations) and both were cheap (around 30 USD each) and shouldn't be very hard to find. I'd suggest looking for a K mount version and using that on your K3 instead.

Took my K3II on vacation to Catalina Island. Worth every penny! I almost exclusively used my 35mm Macro Limited. CatalinaSunrise by Susan, on Flickr

Almost hesitant to post this, as there are so many fantastic shots here, but what the heck. One from the other morning. I had gone there to catch some ducks that frequent this beaver pond. No ducks but interesting lighting and fog on the water.

I have a Transcend and a Sony in my camera, both Class 10 UHS cards. Both seem to work fine, the Sony is in the first slot. It's nice having the second card as I have many times taken the camera on a walk only to find the card remained at home...
I think you have a good plan on the lens. See what focal lengths you like with the zoom, and whether you think you will want a longer lens in the future. It's always best to figure out what you want before buying something. Then, you can keep an eye on the used market here via the Marketplace.

Welcome!
I think with a weather-resistant camera you should have at least one weather-resistant lens. I like the 18-135 as a walkaround lens, I find it versatile and enjoyable. A strong contender to that lens is the 16-85, which is rated higher.
Beyond that, it depends on what you like to do. A specialty lens and a "fun" lens like one of the pancakes are worth considering. I really like the DA 21mm Ltd. on the K3, it really shines and is fun.
Without the AA filter, the K3 series really performs well with macro photography, Pentax has the outstanding 100mm lenses and the 35mm lens, though some third-party offerings are as good.

Hi Archil - welcome to Pentax Forum from New Zealand.
Congratulations on the purchase of the K-3 II, it is a very good camera. I have a K-3 and have found it a very reliable and good camera to use.
With regard to lenses, what are you intending to use the camera for - what type of photography? Then we will be able to provide you a more informed answer.
Best wishes with your photographic journey with Pentax equipment.

I also have a k3 and really enjoy using it.
Regarding lenses you have a couple of options:
1. zoom lenses that cover you need, most people prefer the 13-135 because of its versatility, and one of the 55-300 available, which has a good quality price ratio. you can also opt for the 16-85, 50-135 and 60-250, all of them good from what i heard
2. the pentax way, with a handfull of da limited primes to cover your needs (or fa limited trio if you can afford it). best regarded are the 15, 35/40 and 70mm limiteds, but im pretty sure the others are also really good.
3. other third party lenses that are better priced (some but not all) but are hit and miss die to quality control.
These are general descriptions but recommandations vary on shooting stile and subject. as NZ_Ross said, if you tell us what you shoot and what is your budget you cand receive better advices.
Best of luck
