This was a shot of opportunity. I was lining up to shoot from this angle with my 55mm but this little girl just happened to wander out and sit on this pier. I only had the FA*24 on the camera and I knew I didn't have much time before she moved. I dialed in quick settings (f/11), aimed, focused, and fired. I got one click of her in this position. I really like the effect of the 24mm here far more than I would have liked the 55, so I'm happy circumstances made me use the 24.

One of the shootings that offered me the most strong emotions in 2016: photography of snakes and gecko.
I had never approached these critters, and to have this Boa Constrictor of 2.50m facing me, through my objective, was a memorable experience that I am ambition to renew.
Hope you like it.

Just upgraded to pentax after a long time of using a Sony Nex-5. I loved the camera but the limitations were huge especially as I regularly sell A0 size prints (Terrible low light performance, 14mp sensor, crop frame)
I've been practicing for a couple of weeks now and starting to get used to the features and settings and would be grateful for some feedback to some images I have been working on.
Thanks in advance
Rob

The photo was taken at Canary Islands, Tenerife.
Minimal Lightroom editing.
Polarizing filter.
The kois were swimming so close to the surface that they created a strong current so the structure of the water made the photo look like an impressionist painting.
The fishes are looking envy at the mighty creature who they never can reach. The swan ignores all.
