Thank you so much!
I'm really in love with my Q7; I never thought I'd love this tiny camera so much!
I believe Q7 would have been just funny, but actually I know it is more and more: basically a great quality camera.
Good sharpness, great dynamic range, powerful colors, amazing autofocus tracking in music shows, more than decent high ISO capability... I have Q7 since the end of July, and I'm using it more than K-5 (and I usually use K-5 about twice a week...).
It's a shame that Ricoh does not support Q series anymore: an extreme telephoto lens and a macro one would have completed the system. :(

I never got on with the 07 lens because of the rather close fixed focus distance. I believe depth-of-field for acceptable focus is roughly 1 - 6ft, and I remember wishing they'd set it a bit further out. But when I see shots like these, and some others I've viewed by some of our members over the years, I realise I should play around with mine again.
I really like your shots - such an adorable puppy, and you've used the lens to its strengths :)

Beautiful, I like your non-working adapter and lens combination, nice one Cipher! :)
I'd like to share a couple of "adapters don't" shots too. Both of the following were with Vivitar Series 1 VMC 90mm f2.5 macro at f5.6(??) on Q7 and a cheap FD-Q adapter.

Few years ago I was in Eeklo (Belgium) welknown to Bart I guess and was nipping a beer on the terrace when this lovely yellow bus pulled up and unloaded its inhabitants for a few hours.

Greer Spring near Alton, Mo. Pentax Q with 01 standard lens. f4 1/160 ISO 125.
Last year's July photo vacation with 2 other photographers. It is a .9 mile hike from the parking lot. Sounds easy. Not. Down into a deep valley, then back up for return to parking lot. Lightened my standard camera load. Took K-01 with a few lenses, Sigma DP1, original Q, and tripod. The July weather was terrible at 97 degrees and humidity in the '80s. The trip back up was all uphill. Majorly uphill. Ran out of water on the return trip. There were times I half wondered if we would get back to the van. Never hiking in that kind of weather again.
It was so hot fog was coming off the water. The heat made it hard to think. Never worked harder for photos.
thanks for looking,

About 15 years ago I travelled from Boston to Florida, meeting fellow poets whom I had met on the internet. I stayed a week in Fort Lauderdale and went boat fishing a few times. This one passed us by in great speed.

These photos were taken from an overlook at Great Falls Park, VA over the 4th of July weekend. Shots are taken with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20, a wonderful little 10.1 megapixel camera.

Many thanks for hosting, @Glen 5995. Winter is just, just starting to edge out here and the days are a little longer, so time for more out-and-about with a camera. Love the shots from everyone, so much variety from around the world, and especially from Papa Lazarou since that site is only a few miles from me and looks darn good for a visit. Here are a few of mine from a couple of walks:

Thanks to all the previous hosts and for the opportunity to host this weekly challenge. I was pretty well caught up on my processing of photos I took last week, so I didn't have much to start with for a contribution this week. I didn't do anything with this one originally, because I was not happy with it, but it will have to do for now. Hopefully I can get a better photo this week. Looking forward to everyone's photos this week! |

Took a wander at Ivinghoe Beacon and Pitstone on Saturday. Pitstone Windmill is one of the oldest in Britain. Was hit by the most sudden of hailstorms whilst shooting the windmill. Certainly tested the weatherproofing, although I had a DA Ltd on the K-3 at the time. Seemed OK though.
