Thank you all for the replies.
I decided to go for the Benro Induro Hydra 2. It looks like a great companion for the current time of the year, and my incoming trip to Scotland. It also costs much less than the PD carbon.
After the aforementioned trip, I will write a review and share my experience on the forum.

I wonder if we are going to see lens focused surveys, like we had one with k-3 iii variants that eventually gave us jet-black and monochrome. Just give people what they ask for.

There is no Easter Bunny, there's no Tooth Fairy, and there are no magic coatings that ensure sharp, high contrast images right to the edges.
I get that Ricoh has no budget (and/or will) to make a cheaper, slower, but modern alternative to the Fat Fifty, and their value proposition for standard prime lens is going to be this. It's fine. But let's not fantasize too much about what kind of performance you can get from the design like that.

It's an old type of design. It won't win any resolution competitions (for that I have DFA* 50/1.4).
That said, from all the old style 50s, it's the best one I ever had. I also had the Cosina made Zeiss ZK 50/1.4, also old kind of design. Voigtlander has nicer rendering. Sharp where it needs to be, deliciously creamy elsewhere, and a joy to focus (though in this regard, Zeiss ZK has slight edge).

Used Voigtlander Nokton 58mm f1.4 SL - PK - MF
Real gem of a lens, rarely found in K mount. This one includes lens shade (it used to be sold separately) and 1 year warranty.
I have no affiliation with SRS. I did buy some stuff from them in pre-Brexit times, and it was always a pleasure to do business with them.

Personally, I don't really see the lens roadmap as anything super interesting. Things appear on (or disappear from) it without notice. The famous "or later" is the cherry on top of the "we don't promise anything" cake. I guess the info about discontinued lenses is useful, although it has been circulating for a while.

I don't know what to think of this. You'd expect some developments from K-3 iii to arrive in a cheaper model (like new menus) but it looks like Ricoh is not interested in releasing a new entry level DSLR model (nor lowering the price of K-3 iii to a more budget friendly level), but would rather keep the old offering as long as the supply of sensors lasts. It doesn't look great.
