I have downloaded the latest firmware (fwdc220b.bin) for my K-3 II to my SD card, after the SD card was formatted. It's in the root directory. The battery is fully charged. I press "MENU" while turning on the camera. I get the normal menu screen, NOT the firmware update screen. I have gone thru this entire process at least 3 or 4 times, always with the same results. What am I doing wrong?

It worked when I used the IP address (192.168.1.1). Thanks for everyone's help.

I'm the proud new owner of a K-3 II. I just received the FluCard for it. I had no problem setting it up. And I had no problem finding it on my cell phone (Android device). However, when I enter "http://pentax", I get a message on my phone saying, "Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist or is not available." I tried this several times, and I keep on getting the same results.
I then thought, let's see what happens if I try to find the FluCard with my computer, instead of my cell phone. I found it. I entered "http://pentax", and it worked. So, I know there's nothing wrong with the FluCard.
Has anyone experienced this, and if so, do you have a fix? FYI, I did use Chrome as the browser in both instances.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Thanks for the reply. I'll most likely be getting the silver body. I look forward to the review.

Great looking camera! I have a question. I'm most likely going to be getting a KP in the next couple of months. I'm a traditionalist, and love the look of my original Spotmatic F, versus my all black cameras. Can you tell me if the metal finish on the KP is actually a metal surface? Or is it metallic finished plastic? I'm concerned that if it's plastic the finish will wear off or get scratched. Thanks.

I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I started out in photography about 40 years ago with a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic F. I still own that camera and love it. About 10 years ago I decided to go digital and purchased a Pentax istDL. I also still own that camera, but only like it, not love it. Anyway, about the same time I purchased a Pentax AF540FGZ, which I still have and use.
I plan on retiring this summer and want to get more into photography. I'm seriously considering the Pentax KP. My question is; will my flash (not a II) work on the KP without any problems? Or will I need to make adjustments? And if so, what? Any responses to my questions are most appreciated. I look forward to future activity on this site. Thanks.
