Haha, you're right -- it does look like some kind of alien, or at least what we might imagination they could look like in movies.

Drenched in sweat after getting these shots. It was 100 degrees outside and I saw this dude by chance, so I ran back inside to grab my camera & had to lay down on hot concrete in order to get a better perspective of this guy. He was actually pretty patient w/ me. I like the way the shadows turned out but wish I had included a little more of it in the 2nd shot. For two of these shots, I believe, I used a Pentax extension tube in combination w/ the Sigma macro just to get even closer. That depth of field gets extremely shallow at some point & even hard to work with.

Beautiful shot. I can see why the D FA 24-70mm is so popular w/ K-1 users. Great job.

Nice shot! Very cool location. My family & I visited Zion about 20 years ago & I'd love to plan a trip back there w/ my own kids.

Test shot, combining the Sigma 105/2.8 EX Macro w/ the Pentax extension tubes. Challenging w/ manual focus and closing down the aperture but a *fun* kind of challenge. :-)

Thanks for the nice comments. I am originally from the Bay Area and surprisingly have only been to Monterey a few times. I will definitely check out that beach next time!

Thank you kindly. You are exactly right -- and it was a nice break from the 100 degree heat out here, near Sacramento.

Thanks; I loved the K-1, as I was able to rent it for the week. I'm amazed at the depth and tones it pumped out; what a fantastic camera. My K-30 is now jealous.

Three shots, stacked & selectively masked in Photoshop. I really enjoy splicing together action shots like this with my kids. Here is my three-year-old on one of the slides at the "Dennis the Menace" playground in Monterey, CA.

I've been told that they really shine w/ the K-1. I'm renting a K-1 next month for a trip and look forward to giving it a good test run w/ some of the older lenses.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am loving the older Takumar lens for portraits and have had several shots printed out on the large format canvases and it really brings them to life.
