Hello
I also have a Pentax 6x7 and noticed a light streak on the first image of the film. (see attachment)
I first thought about getting that light seal kit but then read your comment on loading the film correctly.
I'm afraid I wasn't loading it properly.. and since I only had a light streak on the very first image of the film I'm suspecting that what I'm doing wrong is that after I put the film in, close the lid and continue winding I stop winding as soon as the pointer is on the orange zero. But when I look at youtube tutorial videos like this one

it seems as if people are winding the film passed zero and only stop when they physically can't continue winding. Which seems to be around 1 or 2 past zero.
Could it be that I got the light streak because i started taking picture on the very first part of the film that might have gotten a bit of light when putting the film in the camera?

Hey K-Three,
I overlooked your post.. Thanks to you too for helping me out!
You just gave me an idea. I plugged the pc cord into the camera pc port (marked with the X) and tested the flash. It works perfectly everytime I shoot. So this must mean that the flash and the pc cord are working fine.
Then I tried a different flash with another pc cord and plugged them into the lens and that worked fine as well!
So I'm really confused now.. both flashes and both pc cords work perfectly when plugged into the camera or lens except when i plug the metz flash into the lens it doesnt work. Makes no sense.. I guess I'll buy a new pc cord and hope that will solve it.
Unless anyone has a hunch what may cause this problem?

Hey Phil
Thanks for your answer. I forgot to mention that my camera is always set on 1/8 sec.
Maybe any other suggestion why the flash doesn't go off every time I take a picture?

Hi everybody!
I own a Pentax 6x7 with a 90mm 2.8 LS Lens and I'm trying to take pictures with the flash 'Metz Mecablitz 20 BC 6'.
Now what I do is I connect the flash with a pc cable into the lens, cock the lens and shoot.
My problem is that sometimes the flash goes off and sometimes it just doesn't. And I can't seem to figure out what the problem is and why it sometimes randomly doesn't work.
Obviously I always wait until the light reappears on the flash before I shoot. And I've tried to jiggle the cable to see if theres a connection problem. I also tried different lens shutter speeds. But nothing seems to be specifically causing the flash not to fire. It seems to randomly work every now and then..
And the Lens is obviously always on 'U' and not on 'S'..
I can't seem to figure out what I'm missing.. Hope someone can help me out here.
