I tried, but I guess the Netherlands is a bit to densely populated to have a really dark sky. But the orion nebula is quite visible.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
About the next lens, probably it will be an ultra-wide with a minimum aperture of f/2.8 or lower so I can use it for some basic astrophotography.
The soligor is a lot about getting to know how to work with a manual lens. And i'm getting the hang of focussing by hand.

Beautiful pictures, the K70 is incredible capable indeed.
A few of my first pictures with al little bit of editing in lightroom.
The last one is made with the 18-135mm, the other were made with de 50mm f/1.8
I'm not happy yet, so I'll keep making photos! :-) |

i'm a proud owner of a new K70 bundeld with the 18-135mm kit and a 50mm f/1.8
Since I bought this kit a month ago, I found a 400mm Soligor f/6.3 manual lens online to play around.
In the current world of easily offended people, I just want to say that my english isn't flawless and my DSLR history is exactly as old as my K70.
So, i'm probably gonna make mistakes somewhere in posts.
My camera history is very short: Fujifilm Finepix S1500. Handy, small, enough zoom, but outdated by mediocre smartphones.
In januari I used a Canon 1000d from a friend: it does it's job, but felt cheap en entry level.
About a half a year ago I (and my wife) decided that we wanted to make better photo's, but not on a smartphone. We both liked the grip of a dedicated camera in stead of smartphones of compacts. My job was months of investigation to buy the right camera.
Why Pentax? easy: IBIS, weather proof, twin dials, sturdy build, great stills quality, flip out screen, pentaprism, great low light performance. My conclusion was that the K70 is the best choice for our demands in its price range.
And personally I prefer products outside the mainstream canikony etc. and before i forget: from Holland, so I don't want to spend a whole lotta money!
I'm going to write reviews for my K70 and the three lenses.
Until now I can say the K70 feels incredible capable and is a charm to work with.
