Hi All,
Do I lose magnification or image quality (vignetting etc.) if I use D FA 100mm macro lens as primary (attached to body) and 43mm as a secondary (reversed)? Or in other words, Can I use a macro lens for coupling? Is it a must to use non macro lenses for coupling?
Thanks.

Tamron 17-50 is famous with its backfocus problem but once you repair it or solve it with AF Fine Tune on your camera you will get very sharp images

If sharpness and aperture is important tamron 17-50. If not 18-135. 18-135 was my favorite on k-01. Excellent colors

Pentax produced its new! 24-70mm with SDM tech again. I think they are confident with it so that they are keeping it.

I used 16-45. It is cool. Sharp and colors are very good. Also 18-135 is very good. (I dont know it's price at present)

So we can say that sharpness in the centre are perfect, can't we? So, for portraits using da* 55mm on k-1 is a good choice as the subject will be in the centre mostly?
I am asking because i am considering to replace my k-3 to k-1. I am not sure to buy 55mm f1.4 or wait for upcoming d fa 85mm or d fa 50mm? If i buy 55mm now, i can use it for 1 year with my k-3 and spend less money for my k-1 operation :)

I mean, does a crop lens perform better on ff body than crop body? Lets say it is da* 55mm f1.4

Hi All,
By keeping the vignetting out of question, can we say that crop lenses which are compatiable with full frame body (such as DA*55mm) performs better in terms of sharpness?
Thanks.

I used tamron, sigma and 18-135. Sigma and tamron are sharp (sigma little bit sharper but not big difference) however ı would go for tamron because i think it has much better colors.
18-135 was beyond the expectations especially in terms of color rendering. I used it with k-3 and k-01. I recommend it.
I did not use 16-85 but it has good range, good picture quality and also it is WR.
My suggestions
1- if you want carry just one lens go for 16/85
2 - if you are ok with two lenses then you can pair tamron and 18-135 (it is WR) or tamron and one of 55-300 lenses, even DAL 55-300 (cheaper)

Actually DA 55mm is on my BH Photo wishlist :) but i also have sigma 17-50 f2.8 and so not sure to buy 55mm. Of course f1.4 is will make difference but in terms of focal length i am looking for something different.

Hi All,
I am considering to buy a medium telephoto lens for my k-3. I would be happy to get your thoughts. given the k-3 have APS-C sensor which one would you go for?
Sigma 85mm f1.4 EX DG HSM
SMC FA 77mm f1.8
wait for DFA85mm f1.4
or considering the sharpness issue of FF lenses on APS-C sensors 55mm F1.4 SDM?
Thanks in advance.
