I shot some XP2 (400 iso) in my Mamiya C22.
It was heavily overcast. Sunny 16.
1/500 f5.6
Exposure was fine.
I now use a phone app and/or old Sekonic meter.

The article even closes with a mention of the 50/1.4 so you could be on to something there.

It'll be branded Pentax.
It's a Pentax product with all the experience coming from the Pentax side.
The videos and current exhibition in Tokyo are all promoted using the Pentax name.

I went on Monday.
I wondered what the empty glass case was for.
Thanks for the photos. Will have to go back again.

KX or K2 are excellent choices.
MX a kind of smaller KX in a way.
Exacty two weeks ago I bought a LX. What a camera.

I believe as long as the actual transaction is in Japan then there is no issue. At least for the store.
You'd certainly have to be sure about the warranty, which could be void outside of Japan.
That's the risk.
Options are the Pentax Clubhouse, Yodobashi, Fujiya, Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, off the top of my head.

I posted a comment in the more recent Clubhouse thread.

I went to the Clubhouse last year, shortly after it opened.
I walked around looking at the glass display cases before being greeted by a gentleman who came from behind the counter.
He was perhaps late 50s, very smart, greyish hair and glasses.
Very friendly guy.
Wanted to know if I use Pentax, was surprised I used film, had my KX with me.
He asked if I'd been there before and i said it was my first time, and he was happy when I told him I'd been to the previous Imaging Square countless times.
My Japanese is quite low, but I could more or less understand when he showed me the models on display.
He also got out the Pentax Year Books and showed me them.
I did ask if they would have any galleries like at the old place, but he said it was unlikely due to lack of space.
The place in Shinjuku was great - I used to go every Monday when they had a new gallery.
I bought the white clubhouse tshirt at the end.
I haven't been back since. Maybe one day.
Good experience though.

I agree that they're quite a way into it.
Certainly not at the finish line, but farther in than the "starting line" that the CEO comments on.
He also states there is no guarantee a camera will be produced at all.
I'm sure there will be.
Pentax put out a roadmap and im sure there will be at the very least a compact made.
I also hope they will think about a film department service centre.
There are several in Japan, one that is recognised by Pentax.
But hard to find one that will tackle an LX and the like.
With a warranty on new film cameras, it's something we will probably see.

Huge interest in 24-hours.
I'm excited to what we might see in the future.
I'm in for an SLR, maybe the more advanced compact as well.
I've long been after an LX, but reliability and difficulty finding a repair man, if/when needed, have put me off.
A have quite a few fim cameras, some need an overhaul so a new film camera with a warranty sounds good to me.

Fujiya Camera seems to have small quantities of limited items.
They were even giving away Pentax pens to celebrate the opening of the Clubhouse.
They also might sell some of the K+70s there in the near future.
Not sure what the relationship is but it's nice to have some support.

Maybe it's the same one.

I only have P.

I guess that was given out after an online event?

I have three K2's.
Two black, one silver.
The first one that I bought had a stiff ISO ring. I fixed that up.
No problem with a bit of patience.
The biggest concern that I have is that the prism is desilvering and has a thin black line in the viewfinder.
Still meters fine aand works, just a bit of an annoyance.
Therefore, I found a second black one that is spot on, then bought a silver one.
I am thinking about a K2 DMD just to complete the set.
The K2 is my favourite manual film camera.
I have an ME and ME Super, and KX.
I tried an MX, but prefer the bigger size of say a KX.

I have wanted an LX for a good few years.
Over that time I have collected Two KX's and three K2's. One each in both silver and black and an extra K2 in black.
The first K2 I bought had a sightly seperated prism which hasn't hampered picture taking. It was also peanuts.
The LX really does appeal to me, but am concerned about any possible repairs that may/will need doing.
I have found two places in Japan that will look at them, then decide if they could repair.
I think from reading through the comments here that it is unlikely I am willing to take the risk, steering on the side of caution.
The KX looks a much easier repair, and even the K2. Cheaper as well.
I'm also thinking of getting a 645, but they're also tough to find a repairman even in Japan.

When I opened up my KX, after the advanced lever became jammed, I cleaned all cogs and moving parts with a cotton bud/qtip dipped in strong alcohol.
Gently wiped all the dust and grime away and began gently moving parts with a tooth pick.
Worked fine.
I agree with Huss that oil alone ian't the answer.
I posted a video on my instagram (matchacub) if anyone should want to see.

Mistral75, thanks for that.
I'll try and pop down there tomorrow or last day on Monday.
Looks like the repair centre will remain open until May and then a new Imaging Square will open in the summer somewhere in Tokyo.

"Since this was probably the last event they will hold in their Shinjuku showroom..."
Why is that? Have I missed something?
Thanks for the write up.
Couldn't make it myself.

I still use my K10 as well as my K5.
Lenses that, for me, have given best results from my bag are as follows:
Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5
Pentax M50 1.8
Pentax-FA 100-300mm F4.7-5.8
Pentax-F 28-80mm F3.5-4.5

I have the M100/4.
Great lens, but mine also has a blue foggy hue to it which in turn leaves a blue hint on my photos.
A real shame.
