I sincerely agree! ---------- Post added 11-03-19 at 01:52 AM ----------
I am as pleased as anyone that Pentax looks set to continue... but isn't it sad when the good news is "Still not doomed!" ??? (Make a great T-shirt slogan, actually.) Such is life, I suppose.

Good monochrome, so much detail and tone.

The detail of the feathers and legs is wonderful!

I agree - thanks for the GeoSetter tip. It ought to make identifying what was on the horizon, for example, easy. My natural sense of direction is... lost somewhere, I think.

Fabulous! These are calves? All the hair makes it a bit hard to tell!

I have a liking of that ambient glow, as shown in your photo. Got so many pics with not the greatest subjects, but there's a warmness to the scene that made it worthwhile to me.

I was at a pro-oriented show in Sydney Australia earlier this year... there was no Pentax-Ricoh anything! Sadly.

Well done! Those birds stay still for the briefest times! Even in aviaries, photos are challenging.

Sorry for the dumb question... is "MS" Mississippi? You get snow there? We get the odd snowfall in warm parts of Australia too, but I'd have bet money that MS wouldn't.
Good picture wherever you were!

Would you give me permission to post your picture of the river and palace on FaceBook?
In 2018 I was in a group who went via Leh to camp in the National Park near there trying to see snow leopards, which we DID - through spotting telescopes :-) But too far away for pictures :-( During our 3-day acclimatization in Leh, we took photos of the same river and palace fom the same place as you, but in February there were no green plants to be seen, indeed there was ice on the river. Two of our group who I think would love to see that spot in a different season are not Pentax users, so they'd be unlikely to join the forum, but would see it on FB. I will attribute the photo to you, of course, with many thanks. What do you say?

I like that you included the falling rain, RHS background. Such a mixture of life and barren foothills.

Large/close-up pic reminds me of a Hasselblad (or similar): very stylish.

Not travel insurance necessarily, but some Home & Contents policies cover things like cameras when removed from the home - I know, i found that hard to believe as well, but my Westpac H&C does. Then there's the usual issue of excess to weigh against the cost of a repair or replacement. Good luck!

First thing I saw was another Aussie's "hello" post... must be the weather or something... Anyway, started with a 35mm SLR MV (or was it MV-1?) then ME-Super in the 1980's; loved the Pentax lenses and SLR layouts. Loved even more the look of a well-exposed Kodachrome 25 or 64 slide - like a miniature stained glass window. But, one overseas trip saw me spend close to $1,000 in print and slide processing, and that's when I moved to digital. Still got some of my original kit, but I am looking very hard at the new K-P. Cheers!
