Thanks for all of the replies. I have a clearer understanding of the problem now. I acquired some M42 type lenses and did not want to run into some of the issues that others have experienced, some resorting to cutting off lenses, etc.

Does the Ricoh pin need to be removed on older M-42 lenses, when using the Pentax M-42>bayonet mount adapter on a DSLR?

I did not realize that the firmware update was not upward compatible to the K-1 II. So that is probably it. Thanks.

I have followed the procedure to update from V 1.30 to V 2.xx, however it will not initiate it. Any ideas? The .bin file is in the root directory of a freshly formatted SD card.

Most companies are the same but, can I assume that RICOH includes all iterations of previous updates in the latest K-1 firmware update?

Changing the USB type on the Pentax to PNP as suggested by Not A Number, fixed that issue.

I updated prices on some items on listing, however when I submit the changes a page not found message appears. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if there was some other issue.

However you want to describe this issue, it should be obvious that unless you know how to fix it when it happens, its a problem. Others have experienced the same issue so this is not a matter of how to change a setting.
Its time to end this conversation for it is not productive to repeat what has already been said.

If it was not a problem then it would not have been discussed now or six years ago. As was said the veterans have added the fix or routine to help avoid it.

Sorry, but the timing is how you regulate or choose to put in a SD card and that is the same as sequence, so however you want to say it, it doesn't apply to my initial post. It appears that this is a long standing problem and I am not the only one that has experienced it, so I very much doubt that its a problem with the mechanism especially since the way that I was able to get to read it was an already known fix. That said, it is not productive to repeating this, so I will end this and hope that Pentax will fix this problem in the future.

I am the only one who operates this camera, but as mentioned previously the issue was solved by forcing the camera to read SD #1. It appears that this is a known problem, but not one that Pentax had addressed. This is a bit odd and IMO the timing of inserting an SD card should not matter.

In this case both cards were inserted and it had been working normally before this occurred. This kind of thing should not happen.

This was a bit odd. I noticed that the photos were only loading onto SD card #2 and so I checked the program settings and even though I had selected the 1-2 option, the #1 was grayed out when I checked which one it was recording to. In the view photos mode, I could of course view the photos that were on SD #2 however when I switched to view SD #1 it of course said no images. The only way to get it to use SD #1 when shooting was to remove SD #2 and turn the K-1 on forcing it to use SD #1 and then reinserting SD #2, then when I turned the camera back on it then had SD #1 selected and I could select between both cards after that. I had also removed and reinserted the cards a few times, but that too did not fix the problem. Turning the camera off then on also had no affect. Changing the film format RAW JPEG etc also had no affect.
I don't know if you followed that, but basically it would not allow me to select SD #1, grayed out and all photos were being recorded on SD #2. The SD #1 was grayed out in the menus. The only way to fix it was to force it to read SD #1 after removing SD #2, thereafter SD #1 was no longer grayed out. Now, it seems to work normally.
I could have missed it, but did not find other threads concerning this issue.
