I didn't want to be rude to him, but I almost lost it when he said his camera took better shots than my "overpriced" camera. Needless to say, we didn't talk much longer.

I dragged out the Kit Lens to determine if I wanted to keep it or not. Thought these turned out nice. Sock Monkey 1 by featherstonetom, on Flickr

I was showing someone some recent pics and they finally said they liked them, but that they were out of focus around the edges. Then they tried to tell me something was wrong with my lens.
I told them it was called bokeh, but they looked at me funny. Anyone else ever run across this?
I thought it was funny, and I wanted them to know that its a photography technic. I just got aggrevated when he told me his point n shoot camera takes better shots! :)

Wow that looks nice slip. I also like warm, dark, photographs. Sort of sets the mood.
I don't think it would have been the same with some other guitar models, but the stratocaster can be a seductive instrument. Also, they have a sexy body.
Thank you for the feedback.

I got your email with the finished image and was amazed at your work. I thought I did a good job on it, but was more impressed with what you did to it.
I am going to have it printed for my daughter this weekend as a gift.
Thank you very much for helping me with it, and looking forward to your tutorial. It's always refreshing to find someone willing to help a stranger with a project like this. One of the great things I love about this forum and my fellow pentaxians.

Funny thing Riif, is that while shooting her this morning, I kept thinking none of them would be usable. After I sat down to view them on my computer I ended up with several great shots of her.
Our staffy will sit still and pose, so I get a little frustrated with the others. :)

Here is our daschund. Trying to get her to sit still is like trying to photograph a cricket on a hot skillet. Escape by featherstonetom, on Flickr

I will post some of the daschund then. She doesn't seem to pose as well as the staffy. :)

I may try that, but can't get them all in one photo. They refuse to sit still, and the mini daschund gets too snippy. lol

Thank you JohnBee. I just realized that I don't have it in a raw format, but the file is like 2meg. I can ftp or email it to you.
I would be interested in learning to do this as well. I was going to search for some tips on how to do it, but if you have some links to a walk through, that would be great.
In return, if you ever need some help with web development, feel free to ask any questions and I will help out.

JohnBee, I am blown away with your work. That's outstanding!
Thank you for showing me that I have some new skills to learn. Maybe I should give you the raw file to work your magic? :)

Thank you, and that's why I went with the black and white. I did shoot them raw, so I could go back and work on it some more.

Do you soften with a lens filter, or in photoshop? I will post the color pic for comparison when I get back to my desk.
