Yup, FA 43mm and FA 77mm caps are of the same size. I have a FA 43mm and did tried its cap on the FA77. There are some guys selling the genuine 77/43mm metal hood on ebay and prices are generally 50/60+.

You are quite right that I probably should drop by the local stores and check it out, before ordering it form overseas.

Singapore is quite nice especially with its close neighbours, but it's just toooo small >_<

By the way, many thanks for ur help and reminder.

Thanks alamo5000, Unfortunately mine is a black copy. I think BP photo got only a silver piece.

Adorara seems to have some 49mm metal caps in stock, but it also shows an image of silver cap, plus the shipping cost is really deterring.

will try eBay for luck.

Any one got any idea about whether the DA 70/2.4 genuine lens cap can be used as replacement for FA77/1.8?

or other genuine limited lens cap than can be used as replacement?

Many thanks.

1. check the battery. Replace the battery with a new set if battery is running out.
2. check if there is any film loaded and if you have set the shutter speed to Automatic. It was said that Automatic shutter wont work properly unless film is loaded.
3. open back cover and check if shutter curtain is stuck. This should not happen to a LX, but I did encounter this on an ME super.
