Thank you jspi ( K3 III Test photos | Flickr ) for this post !! As one that struggle with the thought of leaving Pentax for Canon mirrorless family, those picture shows that Pentax kept all its advantages in the K3 family + adding the low noise ISO . I think that picture quality + performance / price - put Pentax back in the game

Hi
I've upgraded my K3 with the new 1.4 firmware few weeks ago.
Took few hundreds of frames in a studio with a model. I'm not sure but I have a feeling that the pictures are a bit out of focus and the frame is a little "noisier" .
I run a lens calibration on the 28-75 and found a little shift to center point .
Any idea from the experienced guys?

Hi
I've used PhotoME as exif viewer to show the camera statistics and information .
Its an old version 0.79 that doesn't work on my 1.8T drive and I am looking for a new tool
any recommendation?

Noticed Back focus in all of my pictures I took that evening. I was using my 28-75/2.8 lens. since it was dark I worked in F 2.8-5.6 . at home I used my calibration chart on a tripod and noticed that the Fine Focus that was set to -5 now moved to +5 to set the FOV right in the middle.
same for all lenses - had to reset and re calibrate.

Hi.
After upgrading the firmware to V1.30 I noticed that my pictures were "a little" out of focus . My 28-75 and 10-20mm both moved to back focus .
I had to re-calibrate all my lenses and basically all of them moved to the (+) reign.
I had my K3 from Dec 2014 and upgraded it few time by now but nothing like that happens before.
Any thoughts?

After 35 years of photography with Pentax equipment there are few rules to keep :)
* RTFM - when having your new camera - Read The F... Manual - actually I download the book before buying the camera to know what to look for.
* Reduce the items to set in the setting memory to the default ones - you don't want to take a quick short with the special setting of yesterday shootings.
* Try to keep the shutter speed to the zoom X2 (50mm @ 1/100; 200mm @ 1/500 etc).
* Be relaxed or creative ( :) ) - your mood is reflected in your pictures !!

Wow ! this is great Thank You. Since I've used it with the K5 I guess I set it to Slave 2.
Any advice how to set the 2 flash combination (internal and external) so the light from the build-in will be very low and will have small effect on the frame ?

internal set to wireless (in K-3 I didn't see the option to switch internal off in wireless) the AF360 is set to wireless (mid point in the power switch) and slave in the lower switch

Hi
trying to use the AF 360 with my K3 in wireless mode. I followed the steps in the flash manual + camera manual over and over again and I guess I am missing something :confused: I can see the flash fires but the picture has no flash lighting inside - looks like the flash is out of sync with the camera .
the scenario I want yo use is the AF 360 on a tripod sideways from my model/object .
The only time I can see the "beam" in the frame is when I put the AF 360 on leading and the camera internal flash on trailing +/-0 .
any idea ?

Got it from HK. didn't have to pay tax since the guys in HK stated "Gift 24$ " on the declaration :)
its a great lens.

Thank you guys. Sigma announced 28-70 for pentax as continued.
used Schraubstock advice and just ordered the Tamron (on the last link) and hope to get it within 2 weeks in my home address!!.

Thanks to Mark (Facebook) I posted a request on Tamron's FB page and got this reply:
Tamron Australia: Hi Ofer, unfortunately due to lack of popularity we have not had that lens available in a Pentax mount in Australia for quite some time now so I can't point you to any retailers who would be sure to have stock in Sydney during your visit.
I guess Having Pentax makes us specials and hard to find.. :)
