Inside only upgrades will be hard to sell to existing customers. K-3 Mk III is really good camera so unless they update AF module big time (like lots better AF point coverage or something) I doubt lots of people would go for new accelerator, bigger buffer etc only.
Screen change would be possible, they could make it a bit smaller and put housing of KP-like screen in current cutout or even move it outside protruding from body like it was on KP. Dunno, but I think that would be the fastest way to get current K-3/3 users to buy upgrade.

Tracking, even with SDM lenses is great.
Focus speed (or in AF-C initial focus) - now that is another matter. It is awfully slow on SDM and screwdriver. With really fast subject you can hear how lenses struggle and are step behind what AF sensor tells them to do. Never tried 150-450 as I have no need for this lens, and both 70-200ish are too weird FLs on APS-C for me to bother. But yeah, on shorter end there is DA* 16-50, but on longer and longer there is nothing after removal of 50-135 and 60-250.
BTW - what fast aperture have to AF speed? Other then easier searching in low light conditions? But I agree that Pentax removed too many DA* lenses without giving us replacement.

Come on. Pentax does not have full lens setup that compliments all abilities of current K-3 and you want another new one?
I think, that we will see CCD censored astro version of K-3/3. Cause why not ;)

I wonder if K-3 Mk III Black means normal black or that all black special edition? Going by the fact that they talko about K-3/3+ 20-40 as stopped, but 20-40 (black) is still produced I think it is about special version.
But then K-3/3 jet black was limited number camera so why would it be still in production?

I am not sure. I have bathroom renovation planned for second part of April so lots of work with moving walls etc. Maybe I do film month, so I am not pressed into taking photos each day.
I got few rolls of Agfa Copex Rapid, so maybe I try it with new P-M 100mm Macro.

Pentax AF, even on K-3 Mk III is worse then what mirrorless cameras, even older ones offer. Point. It is great for what it is and if you know what you have it works perfectly, for moving subjects, for stationary. But do not expect subject recognition from DLSR. At least not at this point in time. K-3/3 has some rudimentary subject recognition, but while it works, it is really slow. And speed reaction depends on lens, and Pentax lenses are, mostly, slooooow. And you have camera that is 12 years older so imagine :)
So if you search for great AF performance with subject recognition, I think Canon will do better. Ignore haters and just do your photography. Or move to smartphone for casual snapshots with wide lens. Keep K-5 and WR lenses for time when you want to shot in conditions where you need that weather sealing.
Just use the tool that you like to use and you will be happy with your photography. No need to force yourself to use Pentax if you do not enjoy it.

Best pans are hand casted from some rusty piece of steel by gypsies. Have some, know what I am talking about. Nothing beats gypsies pan.
And induction sucks, gas is second best, just after wood stove.

Well, I would not say that Nikon Df was looking linke old-style SLR at all. It had grip, the "sleek" look. Letherette and old-style setting knobs instead of modern buttons doesn't make it SLR-like. But it is still good example of how much of an issue electronic is when it comes to making small gear.
Even Zf is rather thick, and they had easier as this camera does not need mirror assembly.

It is efficient and effective, for SLR. Imagine DLSR, that needs not only sensor and backplate/screen but also whole reflex system. Thickness will be way beyond what looks like "old school camera". Zf could do it cause it is mirrorless. And if you go with sensor/backplate only leaving old style dials only it would meant that camera will be severly limited in functions and would need old-style lenses with aperture control for manual mode, or work only in Av or Tv or Sv modes, no P, no M. On know for ISO+shutter, on knob for color presets, shutter and I suppose that is it. No screen for preview, no way to cutomize anything, no nothing.
Film - it worked, digital, I kinda doubt it.

Well, I suppose she does not know what she is talking about. Sorry.
AI is over-hyped and biz is right here, but I think it will replace a lot of work places in not so far future as it will either create automation possibilities far beyond what is currently possible. That also goes for photography as in lots of cases you really don't need a photograph, just image or something but currently only way to get it is with photograph. With AI on good enough level, well, why would you bother with real photograph? when you can just type the query and refine image by some more typing.
Of course, there will be always need for reportage at least on some level etc as you want "real thing", not computer images, but stock photography, product/fashion photography will be mostly gone sooner or later, maybe some niches will remain for high price, luxury stuff as there will always be people wanting real photo of real place/item but other then this I doubt it. I wonder about "art" photography, judging by the fact that people pay millions for painting with nothing on it or some straight lines etc AI will find its way into art photography. Not replace it completely.
What will remain for sure is amateur, hobbyists photography. For people who photograph for fun, not for work. BUT... imagine prices of photographic gear on such market. Current Leica will die from envy :D

I did and I was talking about difference between 1/2 and 1/1 35mm.
Still for intended use there is no difference between half frame 35, full frame 35 and whatever bigger format you think of. In the end, after you scan and watch your image on your Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi or whatever is popular in your country half frame 35mm or full frame 8x10 inches - it will look exactly the same. There will be also little to no difference between scan + print in lab on postcard sized paper between both. Well, other then price of developing and scanning of bigger format film.
Just because you want medium format half frame it does not mean it is better for what this camera is supposed to be: cheap to use, relative good quality introduction to film for young people tight on budget.

Even aside the idea that film is there to compete with digital in any way then why? Quality will be the same as 35mm image, you just get half frame. It will be an issue with large prints, but TKO clearly stated that they expect the images to be viewed on smartphones (hence format) or on small, "classic" postcard or slightly bigger format. For both cases half frame is more then adequate.
Contrary to digital, film qualities will not change just because you use smaller format. You just get half of the image after scanning. What's the issue with this?

I voted 200-300 but mostly cause I do not know what it will be. I suppose it will be quality-cheap camera: sleek modern design, relatively good, but not too good lens, body from good quality plastic etc. then it should be more or less right I think.

I have photos, don't have time to catalog, tag and upload them :( Will try tomorrow.
As for lens I am using it almost exclusively since 2 years or so so I do not think I can write something new. I suppose the fact that I am still using it speaks for itself.

Work + weather = no time and feel to get out with camera.
Good luck with Linux, I struggled a bit at beginning too, especially as I have chosen "weird" distro: openSuse which works on different repos and packages then Ubuntu, that was a pain, still is with some apps as I need to compile them manually :D But when you learn it and get everything you need set up it is hard to return to Windows, Linux is very stable system, when it runs, it runs, no issues. I even play now on Linux.
