*ist series has fixed sensor (no SR) and were factory calibrated. No problem around here.
1. Set Up Your Camera's Diopter.
2. Change the focus screen with Split-image type: buy on Ebay or DIY*.
*DIY focus screen info:
K1: 38.25 x 26mm
MX: 35 x 25mm (Good donor for your *ist)
K10/20/DS: 25 x 17.5mm
K5/7: 26x17.9mm
MZ/ZX film SLRs: 35x24.5mm
Canon EC-xx focus screen is compatible with K1 dimensions: 37x25mm
Ec-L Cross-Split Image
Ec-B Split with single horizontal split-image focusing aid in center
